Prawn Farm
Try your luck at catching PRAWNS participating in our new Prawn Fishing Activity. Guests
are able to buy a fishing licence entitling them to catch live prawns from one of the
architecturally designed “Fishing Shacks” or from the edge of the ponds. We will then
have any prawns caught cooked to perfection in the Prawn Farm Restaurant or guests
can take them home to cook or BBQ. This new activity is exciting and fun for all the
family.

Haka Trails
Haka Trails have made a significant change - expanding to include other tourist
attractions in its itinerary that clients might wish to engage. For example, in Oct we are
taking a dozen clients from Aus out on Mt Tongariro (skiing, snowboarding etc) and we
are also putting down a hangi kai together. In Nov we are taking another group from
Rhode Is out quad-biking, fishing & bush walking, but they also want to learn as much as
they can about Maori culture while we do this.

Mountain Air
Mountain Air now offer a 15 minute sightseeing flight around the Ruapehu and Tongariro
National Park area. The flight departs from a grass high country sheep station air strip at
the base of Mt Ruapehu. The flight route includes parts of the National Park and other
areas of the Volcanic Plateau. This is an opportunity for you to view and hear about New
Zealand history, volcanic activity, our Ngati Tuwharetoa Maori tribe heritage and gift to

Hikes & Walks Brochure
The Lake Taupo region has some of the finest examples of untouched, unspoilt,
uncrowded walkways and hiking tracks in New Zealand and now visitors to the region will
be aware of all that are available in Lake Taupo in a colourful new 45 page brochure
entitled ‘A guide to walks and hikes around the Lake Taupo district’. The Lake Taupo area
owes its spectacular scenery to its location in an active volcanic zone. Like all other
consumer targeted Lake Taupo brochures the Walks and Hikes guide is available from the

Heffernan, Zest café has won Best Café Central North Island , NZ, 2005 in the national
café awards”. Cafes all over NZ are anonymously assessed for their coffee, food and
