the same time
We can promote the FT1A as Display only
if needed to
For applications require more I/O than
internal 12 I/O PLC, we can suggest using
external PLCs

Modbus Error Status
– Current Issues
User has option to designate data registers to monitor Modbus
TCP/RTU communication status
Problem is that the status register does not get update when
recovered from communication failure
The current spec is not useful since the error status remains in
“Error” status even though communication already recovered
User does not know when PLC communication recovered
User does not get alert (through email/text) on subsequent
communication failures

FC5A-D12 Features Enhancement
Modbus Error Status
– Improved Specification
User has option to designate data registers to monitor Modbus
TCP/RTU communication status with or without Update
Data register will be reset to 0 when communication recovered
User now has the ability to detect when error occurs and when it’s
recovered
User has option to keep track on how many failures occur
Subsequent failures can now be detected and email or text alert
can be sent to users for notifications

Remote Host List
– Current Specification and Issues
Remote Host List IP address can be configured using WindLDR software
This method requires users to know ahead of time which IP address to use
In some instances, OEM and machine builders don’t know or want to
provide end users the capability to configure this settings
Providing WindLDR software is not an option for OEM because end users
have access to the program
In some instances, users want to be able to configure on HMI

Four consecutive data registers will be occupied for one IP address
Remote Host IP address can now be updated via HMI or Web page

– Current Specification and Issues
Email address can be configured using WindLDR software
This method requires users to know email address of the recipient ahead of
time
In some instances, OEM and machine builders don’t know or want to provide
end users the capability to configure this settings
In some instances, users want to be able to configure on HMI
In some instances, users can’t delete and update existing email address if the
person is no longer with the company
Providing WindLDR software is not an option for OEM because end users have
access to the program
