SOLR Configuration Steps:
The following list of steps is the procedure that I took in order to enable a fully integrated search
solution into a demonstrable starter store.
step1:
Install "Feature Pack 2" (preferably feature pack 3 or higher)
step2:
Enable the Store Enhancement Features
cd 'WCDE_installdir'\bin enableFeature.bat -DfeatureName=store-enhancements
After this step you get the folder in installation directory with a name ”search”
(Approximate Time to complete : 15-20 min)
step3:
Publish the Madisons Feature Pack Store Archive:
Publish Madisons-FEP.sar
(Approximate Time to complete : 15-20 min)
step4:
Enable the Solr foundation
cd 'WCDE_installdir'\bin enableFeature.bat -DfeatureName=foundation
[DsolrHome=C:\IBM\WCDE_ENT70\search\solr\home]
(Approximate Time to complete : 15-20 min)
step5:
Setup the Search Index:
cd 'WCDE_installdir'\components\foundation\subcomponents\search\bin
For DB2:
Alert : Master Catalog Id is the Id which u get in the URL section of the Store which you
published.

For derby:

step 6:
Preprocess the Search index:
cd WCDE_installdir\bin
db2:
di-preprocess.bat

derby/cloudescape:
di-preprocess.bat

step7:

step8:
Test the current Solr index to ensure that a request can be recognized:
http://host_name/solr/Default/select?q=*%3A*
Build out the index (first make sure to start the test server in toolkit):
Test the indexed Solr index to ensure results are returning:

step9:
Features Enabling
cd 'WCDE_installdir'\bin
enableFeature.bat -DfeatureName=foundation
enableFeature.bat -DfeatureName=location-services
enableFeature.bat -DfeatureName=social-services
Note: These two are enable, to find the “Search-based navigation” check box in
“Store Management” in “Management Center”

step10:
Most important step :
Publish the store Enhancement sar (publish as like store publishing.)
Goto ”IBM WebSphere Commerce Administration Console" (In hintsandtips.html you find the
administration console)
(This step takes around 15 to 20mins.)
After login to the administration console from “store Archives” menu select “publish”
From view list select “add on Feature”
Then check the publish store archives, (Follow the store publishing steps as it is.)
step11:
Enable the store to display the search breadcrumb and faceting filters:
Open Management Center
(In “hintsandtips.html” you find the management center link)
Here give the username, password (username: wcsadmin , password: wcsadmin1).
Click "Management Center Tools" menu and select "Store Management"
Click on “store” from left side menu.
Select the "Madison’s" store and click the "Catalog" tab
Check "Search-based navigation"
Click Save
Test live on the starter store:
http://localhost/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Madisons/index.jsp
http://localhost/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Elite/index.jsp
Note:
Here 10001 is Madison’s fep Master catalog Id.
Final result:
After publishing you store you get like this as out put
