Barbara H Bohman MA, LPC has over 25 years of experience in
communications, having worked successfully in the fields of advertising,
magazine journalism, public relations, marketing, and now counseling. After
receiving her Masters of Arts in Counseling from St. Edward’s University in
2005, she practiced as a therapist with the Heritage Program for Senior Adults
at Cuero Community Hospital providing individual and group therapy to adults
aged 55 and over who were dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression,
grief and loss. She has worked for Gulf Bend Center under the Safe Schools/
Healthy Students federal grant program as the mental health therapist for students in the Cuero Independent School District. In this position, she counseled
students from pre-school to high school, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
(CBT) to deal effectively with a variety of emotional, social and behavioral
issues. Graduating with honors from the University of Texas at Austin with a
Bachelors of Journalism degree, Barbara now incorporates writing or journal
therapy in her counseling ; she also uses a measured feedback system to
increase the effectiveness of therapy. She is licensed by the Texas State Board
of Examiners of Professional Counselors and is a member of the American
Counseling Association, the Texas Counseling Association, the American
Psychotherapy Association, and the Center for Mindful Eating.
Sara Serrano MA, LPC graduated in 2009 with a Master in
Counseling from the University of Houston-Victoria. She gained
her Bachelor of Science degree in 2004 from the University of
Houston-Victoria. Since 2005 Sara has delivered mental health
treatment to area residents suffering from depression, anxiety,
substance abuse, and life stressors. Sara has joined Place 4 to
continue treating area residents and brings with her experience in
counseling in Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Personality Disorders,
and family violence. She is licensed by the Texas State Board of
Examiners of Professional Counselors. Sara provides family, couples
and individual counseling and engages clients in a collaborative style
of therapy which builds upon each individual’s strengths.
Vicky Morgenroth has worked for Gulf Bend Center since 2001 in the
areas of Medical Records, Child and Adolescent Services, Customer
Service, and Quality Management. During her employment, she obtained
her Pharmacy Tech license and assisted with the administration of prescription medication for Gulf Bend Center clients, verifying insurance
coverage, preparing insurance claim forms, maintaining patient profiles
and coordinating medication services. Prior to this, Vicky was employed
as the Insurance/Billing clerk for Victoria Ear, Nose and Throat for 13
years. She currently serves as Place4’s Insurance Specialist, handling all
matters pertaining to insurance coverage in the area of behavioral or
mental health for clients and their families.
Lane Johnson, M.Div., LPC, has been practicing as a Licensed Professional
Counselor for almost 30 years and currently serves as the Associate Executive
Director in charge of Clinical Programs and Services at Gulf Bend Center. He
is Place4’s Consulting Counselor. Lane is Board Certified in Professional
Counseling, a Diplomate member of the American Psychotherapy Association,
a Diplomate and Certified Sports Counselor with the National Institute of
Sports, and is licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional
Counselors. He is a critical incident consultant for municipalities and private
industry and is certified in crisis response and recovery through the Austin
Office of Emergency Management, Austin, Texas. Lane is also an ordained
pastor and currently serves the First Presbyterian Church in Yorktown, Texas.
As a performance consultant Lane works with professional groups and athletes
specializing in team building, skills and performance enhancement, and
executive coaching. He is the founder and owner of The Head Coach®, a life
coaching business dedicated to improving performance through
mental attitude and mental preparedness. He also writes a column,
“From the Head Coach”, which appears in the Victoria Advocate Newspaper.
