How to correctly complete Scoresheets:

1st Line:
Name of Club: - This is the name of the club the scorebook belongs to.
Grade: KSCA has 6 gradess, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th.
Page No for this match: either Page 1 of 2 or 2 of 2
ROUND No: - pretty obvious I would think – Needs to be completed on both pages
2nd Line:
Home Team (Captain) v Away Team (Captain): Home and Away as per the Roster

3 Line:
Played At: Which Ground
On: Date of match
4th Line:
Toss won by: - Needs to be filled in (on PAGE 1 only).
Wicketkeeper: Name of wicketkeeper(s) in fielding side
Umpire(s): names of umpire(s) – ask them, they are people with names.
5th Line:
Innings of: This is the name of the BATTING Team.
Batting Analysis:
BATTERS: all 11 players named on the teamsheet should be listed, if not 11 players participate then they
should have ABSENT or DNB (Did Not Bat) written next to their name as appropriate. If less than 11 players
are named on the teamsheet then write in No Player. If they batted in a different order to listed, please
indicate with numbers next to the names any changes to the batting order. Batters must be listed with FULL
Names, not just initials.
Runs: the runs as the batter accrues them, recorded with appropriate numbers, ie 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 etc
How Out: Method of Dismissal – if Caught or Run Out, the fielding side MUST complete the names of those
fielders involved in both their own and the opposition books before the sheet is signed off on by both
captains. Failure to do so will result in BOTH clubs being fined. Nicknames are not acceptable as they do not
necessarily identify the player concerned.
BOWLERS: if the Bowler is to be credited with the wicket, then their name must be entered in.
TOTAL: this is the total runs the batter scored, and should accurately reflect the sum of all numbers written in
the RUNS. These are checked at random by the Statistician, especially those whose total is more than 20.
SUNDRIES: these must be scored as numbers, such as 1, 4, 3, 2 in the same manner to the Batter’s Runs.
There should not be four 1’s crossed out with a diagonal line to indicate the 5th. If there is insufficient space in
the provided box, use the 12th batters runs area and indicate this clearly.
Note total of Byes and Leg byes gets copied to bottom of scoresheet.
Fall of wickets:
team cumulative score at the fall of every wicket. Ie 1 for 20, 2 for 73, 3 for 74 etc
Batsmen Out: – obvious
Batsmen Not Out: – name of batter still at crease plus optionally their total current score enclosed in
parentheses ()
Innings Total: this is the total score for the innings.
If there is any discrepancy between the batting and
bowling figures, then the total from the bowling figures is used, not the batting total.
Wickets Lost: - should be obvious

Cumulative run tally:
This should be completed as follows: If a single run is scored, then cross out the
number with a diagonal line. If more than 1 run is scored, then a continual horizontal line should be drawn
through the numbers.
I.e. if a 4 is scored then there should be a continuous line crossing out 4 numbers. I.e. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
Bowling Analysis:
BOWLERS: Surname and Initial – and anything else required if multiple players with same surname and initial
When each delivery is bowled one of 4 things get written in the bowlers over.
If no run scored then a . is recorded
If a bye or legbye is scored then a . is recorded, and the appropriate number is written in the Sundries
If runs are scored off the bat (including overthrows) then the total number of runs are recorded
If a wide or no-ball is bowled, then the number of any additional runs are written in the over, and enclosed in
a circle or square respectively
If a wicket is taken by the bowler (ie not a runout) then a W is recorded.
At the end of the over, the total number of runs conceded by the bowler are counted, and added to the
cumulative total for that bowler, and recorded in the lower box. If the bowler has taken a wicket then the
cumulative tally should be in the format of wickets/runs. If the bowler bowls a Maiden over, then a M should
be written in the lower box.
At the completion of either the bowler’s 10th over, or the end of the innings, their Overs, Maidens, Runs,
Wickets, Wides and No-Balls boxes should be filled in.
Progressive Totals
Down the right hand side of the page are 4 columns. Titled Over, Score, Over and Score.
At the end of each over, the progressive score should be recorded in the score column matching the total
number of overs completed.
To make tracing back through the innings easier (in the case of any discrepancies or disputes), the right hand
Score column MUST be used to record the bowlers initials. If multiple bowlers have same initials, they must be
identified further.
At the completion of the innings the bowling analysis totals need to be completed at the bottom of the
scoresheet.
Note Byes/Leg Byes and Run Outs are copied into the appropriate boxes from the Sundries.
The total of Wides and No-Balls against the bowlers should equal the total recorded in the matching Sundries
Remarks : anything relevant to the innings is to be recorded here, ie total score when a batter retired hurt
and/or returned to the crease, any 5 or 7 ball overs, any time lost to rain interruptions, any amendments to
targets or number of overs to be bowled, etc
In 1st Division, the qualification for bonus points for the second innings MUST be written in by the umpires
before the commencement of the second innings or any resumption of play after time lost due to rain or any
other non scheduled interruption.
Result of Match: needs to be completed, especially if there is time lost due to rain
Once sheets are completed, checked that they are the same in both books, and that the bowling total matches
the batting total, then the captains sign off on each page in both of the books. Once this is done, then the
Umpire(s) countersign.
Both Sheets for each game from each scorebook must be returned to the Association Statistician as per
instructions provided by the Association Committee.
Incorrectly completed scoresheets WILL result in clubs being fined and/or yellow cards issued.
