Report

As we approach the AGM the year
seems to have gone by so quickly. I
would like to start by thanking the
current committee for all their efforts
during the past year. Each member
contributes what they can in different
ways and any help is always much
appreciated.
At this AGM we will be calling for nominations for a
Secretary as Wendy is no longer able to continue
this role due to increased work commitments. We
thank her for her efforts and look forward to her
continued support on the general committee. If you
are interested please contact myself or Wendy to
see what is involved.
I would like to thank the whole committee for their
contribution thorough the year however; Special
thanks to Dick Bartley and his team for continued
growth and participation in the social tournament
scene it is a most enjoyable calendar they have put
together. Dick has also been a strong supporter of
our new policy in offering new members free
membership to grow our tennis community for
future sustainability.
I would also like to thank Robert and Rosemary for
efforts in keeping the members informed with
outstanding and professional publications and
minute taking in a timely and efficient manner.

Australian Teams and individual championships
being held in Shepparton January 2016. I’m sure it
will be an event not to be missed.
As always I welcome any feedback from members
in relation to suggestions concerns and
constructive criticism on how we can serve
members better moving forward and would
welcome anyone to have a chat if they are
interested in joining the committee or can help in
other way to support TSV and its members.

Graeme Heath has done an amazing job with the
coordination, administration and implementation of
the ITF tournaments through adverse health
issues. I personally appreciate his dedication and
I'm sure the players do to. We are currently in the
process for applying for a new tournament over the
Melbourne Cup Weekend 2016 stay tuned for more
details. As always Rob Hughes has been the
backbone of TSV with his accounting, support and
help with tournaments and committee members

TSV Social Tournaments
Our monthly social tournaments have been
well supported. The days at Glen Waverley,
Dingley and first timer Ringwood Tennis
Clubs were highly successful. Thanks to
the clubs for hosting these events.
TSV Seniors 3 Premier Team
Our recent tournament was held at the
National Tennis Centre on the indoor
courts.
Thanks to Nick Hinneburgh at Tennis
Victoria who supported us with this day.
Frankston is the next venue for our social
tournament which will be held on Sunday

All the teams represented Australia in a most
sportsmanship manner. The conditions over the
first two days of excessive wind gusts put our tennis
under extreme pressure. We have all heard “make
the wind your friend” … Well really!!! Red dust
everywhere as far as the eye could see! Don’t let
that deter us, soldier on – that we did.
Playing at four different venues, the system worked.
The Welcome Drinks and Social Evening proved a
most successful gathering. The French welcomed
us with amazing food, wine and hospitality.
Okay, I was the novice this year, in the Teams
Event. One of the memories that will remain with me
is the “support and Aussie Spirit” amongst the
Australian Teams. The unity of all the players is a
vibe that does not get the recognition it deserves.
The Australians’ are well respected and our tennis is
played with tenacity along with good sportsmanship.
Fantastic experience and loved representing
Australia.
Congratulations to our Gold Medal Winners in
the Von Cramm Cup 60+ . Andrew Rae, Michael
Collins (Captain), Wayne Pascoe and Colin
Holgate. Well done to a tough week on tennis

Note to New Balance – the Australian Ladies Team
Uniform was voted “Best on and Off the Court” by
the players. We went with the theory of Look Good
– Play well. Well done Tennis Australia for the
excellent choice.

2015 Vic. Senior Grasscourt Championships. Grade 2 Ranking.
Mon. 23rd --- Fri 27th November on the
beautiful Grasscourts in Yarrawonga.
Anyone can enter. No IPIN is required but if
you do have an IPIN, you will earn ITF
ranking points.
All information about the Tournament and
the Events involved can be found in the
Entry Form on the TSV website under the
heading for Tournaments/Entry Forms.

For players wanting Grasscourt practice in readiness for the Australian Championships at
Shepparton in January, this event will provide that opportunity.
