or dogs whether or not that breed is scheduled at HOUNDSHOW, provided that dog is
registered with the Kennel Club. Full particulars of each Not For Competition dog must be

The mating of bitches within the precincts of the Show is forbidden.
Best Puppy in Show: From 1st January 2015, and for a period of two years the Kennel Club Show
Regulations which stipulate that dogs must be entered and exhibited in a breed class before
exhibiting in an Any Variety Class/Stakes Class and that only unbeaten dogs are eligible to
compete in the group or best in competitions are suspended. (Please refer to the FAQs on the
Kennel Club Website for further information).
Where a Best Puppy in Show competition is scheduled the Best Puppy in Show is a puppy which has
competed and is unbeaten by any other puppy exhibited at the same Show. A puppy is a dog of six and not
exceeding twelve calendar months of age on the first day of the Show. Where the Best of Breed, Best of
Group or Best in Show is a puppy it should automatically be awarded Best Puppy in Breed, Best Puppy in
Group and Best Puppy in Show respectively. Similarly, if the Reserve Best of Breed, Reserve Best in
Group or Reserve Best in Show is a puppy which has only been beaten by an adult dog it will also
automatically be Best Puppy in Breed, Best Puppy in Group or Best Puppy in Show respectively.
Consequently, selection of Best Puppy in Breed, Best Puppy in Group and Best Puppy in Show must
follow the selection of Best of Breed and Best in Show respectively.
(a) Championship Shows Judged on the Group System.
(1) Best Puppy in Breed. A Best Puppy must be declared in each breed from puppies entered in the
breed classes.
(2) Best Puppy in Group. From 1st January 2015, and for a period of two years the Kennel
Club Show Regulations which stipulate that dogs must be entered and exhibited in a
breed class before exhibiting in an Any Variety Class/Stakes Class and that only unbeaten
dogs are eligible to compete in the group or best in competitions are suspended. (Please
refer to the FAQs on the Kennel Club Website for further information).
Best Puppy in Group and subsequent Group placings must be selected from:
(a) Those puppies declared Best Puppy in Breed provided that they are unbeaten by any other
puppy.
(b) The puppy declared Best Puppy from the Any Variety Not Separately Classified classes in
each group or on each day provided it is unbeaten by any other puppy.
(3) Best Puppy in Show must be selected from the Best Puppy in Group winners provided they are
unbeaten by any other puppy.
(b) Withdrawal from Competition. Puppies which become eligible for Best Puppy in Group and Best
Puppy in Show may be withdrawn from all other competition, other than breed classes and Best Puppy
in Breed, prior to the competition for Best Puppy in Group and Best Puppy in Show as appropriate, in

order to remain unbeaten. A puppy beaten in competition for Best Puppy in Group or Best Puppy in
Show may subsequently be exhibited in all competition for which it was previously eligible. The dog
declared Best Puppy in Show, however, must not compete in any subsequent competition. Puppies
may be withdrawn from Any Variety classes when judged before Breed classes.
(c) Proviso. For the purpose of this Regulation, dogs beaten in competition for Stud Dog, Brood Bitch,
Progeny, Brace and Team or a Special Award confined to one breed will not be considered to be a
beaten dog.
Best in Show: From 1st January 2015, and for a period of two years the Kennel Club Show
Regulations which stipulate that dogs must be entered and exhibited in a breed class before
exhibiting in an Any Variety Class/Stakes Class and that only unbeaten dogs are eligible to
compete in the group or best in competitions are suspended. (Please refer to the FAQs on the
Kennel Club Website for further information)
The dog declared Best in Show is a dog which has competed and is unbeaten by any other dog exhibited
at the same Show.
Definition of a Category 3 Breed. A breed from time to time designated by the General Committee as
requiring particular monitoring by reason of visible condition(s) which may cause health or welfare
concerns. The list of designated Category 3 Breeds is kept under regular review.
(a) Shows Judged on the Group System
(Definition: Shows judged on the Group system include classes for breeds within more than one
Group, as defined in Kennel Club Regulation B(A); and requires a judge to declare a Best of each
Group after which the exhibits so declared will compete for the award of Best in Show and Reserve
Best in Show).
(1) Best of Breed
Where a breed is separately classified a Best of Breed may be declared but only from those dogs
which have received a first prize in a breed class at the show. Where separate classes are
provided for each sex of a breed a Best of each Sex must be declared.
NOTE: The Best of Breed/Best Any Variety Not Separately Classified award relevant to a High
Profile Breed will not be confirmed until the dog has passed an examination by the General and
Group Championship Show Veterinary Surgeon.
(2) Best of Group. From 1st January 2015, and for a period of two years the Kennel Club Show
Regulations which stipulate that dogs must be entered and exhibited in a breed class
before exhibiting in an Any Variety Class/Stakes Class and that only unbeaten dogs are
eligible to compete in the group or best in competitions are suspended. (Please refer to
the FAQs on the Kennel Club Website for further information).
Best of Group and subsequent group placings must be selected from:
(a) The Best of Breed winners in each Group provided that they are unbeaten winning dogs.
(b) The best unbeaten winning dog from the Any Variety Not Separately Classified classes in
each Group or on each day.
NOTE: The dog declared Best of Breed/Best Any Variety Not Separately Classified from a breed
designated by the Kennel Club as a High Profile Breed is not eligible to compete in the Group
competition unless it has passed an examination by the Show’s Veterinary Surgeon. If the dog fails to
pass the examination it is ineligible to compete in the relevant Group.
(3) Best in Show.
Best in Show must be selected from the Best of Group winners provided they are unbeaten.
Reserve Best in Show must be selected from the remaining Group winners following the
selection of Best in Show.
(b) Withdrawal from Other Competition. Dogs which become eligible for Best of Group and Best in
Show may be withdrawn from all other competition (other than Breed Classes and Best of Breed) prior
to the competition for Best of Group or Best in Show as appropriate in order to remain unbeaten. A dog
beaten in competition for Best of Group or Best in Show may subsequently be exhibited in all
competition for which it was previously eligible. The dogs declared Best in Show and Reserve Best in
Show however, must not compete in any subsequent competition. Dogs may be withdrawn from Any
Variety Classes when judged before Breed Classes.
(c) Proviso. For the purposes of this Regulation dogs beaten in competition for Stud Dog, Brood Bitch,
Progeny, Brace and Team or a Special Award confined to a single breed, will not be considered to be
beaten dogs.
Exhibits will not be admitted to Group or Best in Show competition after a period of ten minutes has
elapsed since the announcement that exhibits are required for judging, unless they have been unavoidably
delayed by previous judging not being completed on time, and then only with the special permission of the
Show Management.
No modifications will be made to this Schedule except by permission of the General Committee of the
Kennel Club, which will be followed by advertisement in the Canine Press wherever possible.

entry to the show/event can be made. All overseas entries without an Authority to Compete number will be

Dogs in Cars on Hot Days: Your dog is vulnerable and at risk during hot weather and the Kennel Club
offers the following guidance to help guide you through the do’s and don’ts travelling to and whilst at
Kennel Club licensed events.
• When travelling to a show please take a moment to consider whether the route to the show is on a
busy holiday route, and leave earlier to avoid increased time in traffic jams.
• If your vehicle is not air-conditioned seriously consider whether travelling to the show is a good idea at all.
• The vehicle should be as fully ventilated as possible, and plenty of stops should be taken, with lots of
water available to drink.
• Ensure your dog is not sitting in full sunlight. There should be plenty of free flowing air around the dog.
• When at the show, never leave your dog in the vehicle.
• Keep the dog in the shade — take your own shade, for example a large umbrella and always have
plenty of water available to drink so your dog stays well hydrated.
• Avoid your dog taking part in unnecessary exertion, or from standing in exposed sunlight for extended
lengths of time.
Remember, if you feel hot your dog is very likely to feel much hotter and dehydrated, and this could lead to
dire results. Please look after your dog’s welfare.
WARNING: IF YOUR DOG IS FOUND TO BE AT RISK, FORCIBLE ENTRY TO YOUR VEHICLE MAY
BE NECESSARY WITHOUT LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED.
Not For Competition entries will be accepted. Details of each dog so entered must be recorded on the entry
form and must be Kennel Club registered.
The Show will be held under the Rules and Show Regulations of the Kennel Club. All hounds must be
registered at the Kennel Club before the Show.
All entries must be made on or before Monday, 15th June, 2015 (postmark). The entrance fee must be
forwarded to the Secretary with the entry forms, or the entry will not be accepted. Each exhibitor must use
a separate entry form. No late entries will be accepted. Entries may be made online up to 12 noon on
Monday 22nd June 2015 at www.dog.biz.
There will be no benching fee.
Should any of the judges be prevented from fulfilling their engagements, the Committee reserve to
themselves the right of appointing other judges to act. Exhibitors will in that case be at liberty to withdraw
from competition, but no entry fees will be returned. (Vide Kennel Club Show Regulations).
The Judges will be instructed and empowered to withhold the prize or prizes in any class, if, in their opinion
the hound or hounds do not possess sufficient merit. Judges are not empowered to award prizes beyond
those offered in the Schedule of prizes. Any such award shall not have any value or count as a win, except
the consent of the Secretary be first obtained in writing. (Vide Kennel Club Show Regulation 22 (d)).
No animal other than a dog duly entered at the Show will be allowed in the precincts of the Show during its
continuance.
All Rules and Regulations, or definitions or instructions of the nature of Rules and Regulations, printed for
convenience in other parts of the Schedule shall be deemed to be the Regulations of the Committee and
shall have the same effect as if they formed part of these Regulations.
The Committee will not be in any way responsible for any claims by exhibitors for any loss of valuables.
In view of the pressure of work at the time of entries closing, entries cannot be acknowledged by return of
post unless an addressed card accompanies the entry form.
The Committee will be most anxious for the care and safety of the hounds sent for exhibition, and for any
other property entrusted to them, but it must be distinctly understood by exhibitors and purchasers of
hounds that the Committee will not be responsible for the loss, detention of, or damage to any hounds or
other property or for injuries to any person, whether arising from accident or other causes whatever, or for
any act of omission of themselves, their officers, agents, servants or others, and it is on this understanding
only that entries are received. The use of a cooking stove in the proximity of the tenting and benching areas
is forbidden except as authorised by the Show Management.
Every exhibitor making an entry or entries at or for this Show shall be deemed to have agreed to abide by
the Kennel Club Limited Rules and Show Regulations printed herein, and by these regulations, and it is on
this understanding only that entries are received.
No persons will be permitted to take any hound into the Ring until required for judging. Exercising in the
rings will be strictly prohibited.
Exhibitors showing hounds are not permitted to hold conversation with the judges during competition and
any exhibitor who persists in addressing the judges after being requested not to do so by the Ring
Steward, the judge or any of the Committee may be disqualified and any prize awarded to his or her
hounds forfeited. No persons other than the exhibitor (officials excepted) will be allowed in the ring during
the judging of classes or specials.
Dishonoured cheques will incur a £10 charge.

STAKES CLASSES
The Kennel Club has announced a two year suspension of the regulation which stipulates that dogs must be entered
and exhibited in breed classes before being exhibited in an Any Variety/Stakes Class; and that only unbeaten dogs
are eligible to compete for the Group or BIS/BPIS competition.
Wins or losses in the Stakes classes therefore now have no effect on the status of breed class wins. It is also now
possible to enter in Stakes classes only. Please note First Entry fees.
