All around the museum are bell and pomegranate patterns like the one pictured above, Some of Robert Browning’s early poems were published in a series of pamphlets called Bells and Pomegranates. This guide was designed in partnership with Waco Independent School District to enhance the experience of the Armstrong Browning Library & Museum specifically for children in first through third grade. Armstrong Browning Library opened its doors in 1951. In its over 60 years, the library has hosted thousands of elementary aged students and their families for either individual visits or public events like our popular Pied Piper Tours. Robert and Elizabeth Barrett Browning named their son Robert W.B. Browning, but nicknamed him “Pen.” Why do you think they called him this?
