Midwestern University Dental Institute (Opened June 2010)
• 100,000 square feet, 242 chairs, specialty suites for cone-beam imaging,
wheelchair exams, oral surgery, pediatric dentistry, orthodontics
• Third- and fourth-year CDMA students provide care with faculty supervision
Midwestern University Eye Institute (Opened October 2010)
• 33,300 square feet, 55 exam rooms, classrooms, specialty suites, Vision/Retail Center
• Comprehensive eye exams, glasses and contact lenses, disease screenings, sports
vision training, visual rehabilitation services, pediatric care, ocular prosthetics
• Third- and fourth-year AZCOPT students provide care with faculty supervision
Midwestern University Companion Animal Clinic (Opened December 2014)
• 111,800 square feet, 14 exam rooms, four surgical suites, and two specialty suites
• Comprehensive small animal care including internal medicine, diagnostic imaging,
surgery, dentistry, wellness, senior pet care, and more
• Currently, CVM faculty veterinarians provide care. Starting in 2017, third- and
fourth-year CVM students will provide care with faculty supervision.

Midwestern University’s presence in
Glendale has created nearly 700 campusbased jobs and has linked more than 6,000
healthcare professionals from around the
United States to Glendale as clinical faculty
members. The University has invested over
$369 million in Glendale and is the home
of Arizona’s largest medical school and the
state’s only veterinary college. Midwestern

Community Service:
Midwestern University faculty and students
are actively engaged in community service
through University-sponsored events,
alliances with healthcare organizations such
as the American Diabetes Association, and
work study programs. Midwestern students
and employees provide nearly 10,000 hours
of community service annually (with an
equivalent monetary value of over $1.4
million) by participating in a wide variety of
outreach programs, health screenings, and
education throughout the state, and offering
expert advice through the Midwestern
University Community Health Lecture Series.
Arizona Healthcare Impact:
In addition to rural residency programs
around Arizona, Midwestern’s Osteopathic
Postdoctoral Training Institution (OPTI)
program has established new residency
programs in Maricopa County in
conjunction with partners such as John C.
Lincoln Healthcare and Mountain Vista
Medical Center, as well as created residency
opportunities at its own Midwestern University
Clinics in Glendale. As of October 2014,
more than 7,000 healthcare professionals have
graduated from all of Midwestern’s programs,
with over 40% remaining in Arizona to practice,
helping to address critical shortages in family
medicine statewide.

Arizona College of
Osteopathic Medicine (AZCOM)
The Arizona College of Osteopathic
Medicine (AZCOM) was founded in 1995 and
graduated its first class of 103 students in 2000.
College of PharmacyGlendale (CPG)
The College of Pharmacy-Glendale (CPG)
was founded in 1998 to address the need
for qualified pharmacists in Arizona and the
Southwest. The inaugural class of 98 students
matriculated in 1998 and graduated in 2001.
College of Health
Sciences (CHS-GL)
The College of Health Sciences was
founded in 1992 to offer programs in
health professions that have a demonstrated
shortage. The College offers degrees in the

graduated in 2013.
