The Minibuses. - Mercedes-Benz

The Minibuses.
Masterpieces.
Minibuses with maximum options.
Versatility is the trump card for Mercedes‑Benz Sprinter minibuses. 16 models in four series, four diesel engines, two
manual and two automatic transmissions, rear wheel and all-wheel drive, more weight and rear axle variants – all told,
these multiply into several hundred options. You have the choice.

3
The Sprinter minibuses.
The highlights.
It has given a name to an entire class of vehicle - the Mercedes‑Benz Sprinter. A vehicle
that has been an innovation leader since its introduction. Get to know the new Sprinter
minibus family from Mercedes‑Benz. With state-of-the-art BlueTec® engines, outstand‑
ingly low fuel consumption, extensive safety and assistance systems and a particularly
attractive appearance.
The right size. Mercedes‑Benz minibuses based on the Sprinter have long since taken
a lead in Europe – they are in their element transporting a small number of passengers,
and they start paying for themselves long before a large-scale bus ever would. Thanks
to their compact dimensions, they are also the ideal choice on narrow city and interur‑
ban routes.
Incredibly low fuel consumption. As one of the most sustainable vehicles in its
class, the new Sprinter achieves outstandingly low emissions and consumption
levels through numerous efficiency measures. In conjunction with the optional
BlueEFFICIENCY package, the economical Sprinters are even more restrained when
it comes to expending fuel, with consumption dropping by up to 0.5 l/100 km and
thus almost equalling that of a car.
Dynamic on the road. Its name says it all: the Sprinter stands for extraordinarily
dynamic handling. The performance of the engines is based on powerful four and six
cylinder diesel engines delivering 84 kW (114 bhp) to 140 kW (190 bhp). Comfortable in
all gears: you can choose between a six-speed manual transmission and a seven-speed
automatic transmission.
BlueTec® – outstanding technology. The BlueTec® engines score highly with both their
economy and their environmental friendliness. Thanks to cutting-edge SCR technology
(Selective Catalytic Reduction), the Sprinter meets the Euro VI standard. This procedure
significantly reduces NOx emissions by passing exhaust gases through a catalytic
converter so that the water-based additive AdBlue can help to convert the nitrous oxide
into nitrogen and water. This has less impact on the environment and helps to make the
vehicle more economical.
4
5
Impressive.
From the first moment on.
Regardless of whether you deploy a Sprinter Transfer, a Sprinter Travel, a Sprinter City
or a Sprinter Mobility, with a Mercedes‑Benz minibus your journey will be the best from
the first moment onwards.
Powerful and dynamic. With its striking front, the Sprinter attracts attention wherever
it goes. In the radiator grille, the centrally positioned Star is decorated by three slats. In
addition to the dipped beam, turn indicator and cornering light, the sharply designed,
strikingly segmented headlamps also encompass a daytime driving light which can be
selectively designed as an LED lighting strip. A bi-xenon light and separately positioned
fog lamps are optionally available and round off the front lighting features. The lighting
design at the rear is also striking: with two rear lamps in each lamp cluster, the new
Sprinter also stands out more clearly in the dark.
Inviting and expressive. That is the impression created by the interior of the Sprinter
minibuses. The flush ceiling design with LED lighting strips and “Tunja black” seat covers
produce an attractive environment. This can be customised with countless patterns, materials and colour shades from the Mercedes‑Benz collection.
6
7
A heart for performance.
And for environmental protection.
No matter which Mercedes‑Benz minibus you choose: they all prove that power, efficiency
and environmental friendliness do not have to be a contradiction in terms.
True pioneer work. With the latest generation of BlueTec® engines, Mercedes‑Benz has
continued its tradition as a technological pioneer for this vehicle class. Developed specifically for Europe, tested under the severest conditions from the Arctic Circle to Australia and
having proven its worth already in Mercedes‑Benz buses, coaches and trucks on journeys
totalling many billions of kilometres, the innovative drive technology has been standard in
the Sprinter minibus family since mid-2013.
8
State-of-the-art technology. The new Euro VI exhaust emission standard requires a drastic
lowering of emissions compared to Euro V. The BlueTec® engines possess a complex
exhaust gas treatment system to meet these specifications. The central element of this
system is the innovative exhaust gas control method SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction)
with AdBlue injection. The result: 66 % fewer particles and 80 % less nitrogen oxide when
compared to Euro V. Proof that a powerful engine performance can also be a cleaner one.
9
The ideal combination of
economic efficiency and
performance.
When it comes to efficiency, not many vehicles can compete with the Sprinter minibuses – and the same applies to performance.
Savings without any loss of performance. The powerful, efficient and future-proof
BlueTec® engines are not only tuned for a maximum reduction of nitrogen oxide and
particles in the exhaust gas, but also for the optimal performance of the engines with
minimum consumption. This has been successfully demonstrated over around eight
million test kilometres.
Enhanced efficiency. The BlueEFFICIENCY package provides even greater economy.
The generator management, fuel pump and tyre rolling resistance were all optimised
in this respect, while an ECO power steering pump and ECO start/stop function were
integrated. With their exceptionally low fuel consumption values, the economical
Sprinter minibuses have now almost achieved the level of a car. This is combined with
the long oil change intervals for diesel vehicles of up to 60,000 km or every two years at
the latest and extended servicing intervals governed by usage of up to 120,000 km
which the standard ASSYST service computer calculates according to the load involved,
indicating the remaining service life of maintenance components.
10
11
Safe. Safer. Mercedes‑Benz.
Buses and coaches are considered to be one of the safest forms of transport in the world.
The innovations of Mercedes‑Benz have played a decisive part in this. We are proud to be
the standard-bearers for bus and coach safety. Many of the features that are standard today
in the industry were launched in a vehicle bearing the Star: the Anti-lock Braking System
(ABS) or the Electronic Stability Program (ESP®) for example.
Responsibility is a duty. With our integral safety concept, we at Mercedes‑Benz are pursuing the vision of accident-free driving. The concept covers all phases of automotive safety:
from driver safety, safety in dangerous situations and protection in the event of an accident
through to minimising the consequences of accidents.
12
The benchmark in terms of safety. With its comprehensive safety technology, the Sprinter
has long been considered one of the safest vehicles of its class. In addition to an impeccable
running gear, precision steering and the highly effective brake system, the electronic guardian
angels, features which have achieved legendary status, also contribute to this outstanding
safety record. Most notable here are the standard ADAPTIVE ESP® and standard brake
assist system. The designers have added a further five new assistance systems: the lane
departure warning system, adaptive cruise control and the blind spot assist system made their
international premiere in the Sprinter class. They have also been joined by the high beam
and side wind assistants. They are available relative to the model and vehicle configuration.
With this increased safety, Mercedes‑Benz is taking another decisive step closer to its vision
of accident-free driving, including the minibus segment.
13
Residual value
The residual value of a minibus is just as important as its
purchase price. After all, the key factor is the loss in value
in absolute terms. A first-class bus is also easy to sell on at
a first-class price. On request, BusStore will ensure you the
residual value for you and will buy your minibus back at the
end of the defined service life.
Maintenance & repair
A bus only earns money when it’s on the road. Unscheduled
servicing increases downtime and generates high costs for
your fleet organisation. That is why Sprinter minibuses are
designed to ensure that repairs and maintenance stopovers
are as rare and as short as possible. All of the components
have a particularly long service life and are easily accessible.
The OMNIplus ServiceNetwork with customised services
and the 24h SERVICE are available for you during the entire
service life.
Every bus costs money, but the Sprinter minibuses save it.
Many factors generate costs when operating a bus or coach. Even if you cannot control all
the cost factors, you can still do a great deal to use your Mercedes‑Benz minibus even more
cost-effectively: it is possible to actively influence about one third of the incurred cost types.
In terms of investment, consumption, maintenance and residual value, we can show you where
the overall, economic advantages of our buses and services lie.
Economy is a technological matter. With every Sprinter minibus, you have a cost-effective,
integral solution on your timetable. For example, the innovative vehicle technology proves
itself in the powerful BlueTec® engines.
Consumption
Investment
Investment in a new minibus is a decision that needs to be
planned with the utmost care. We will listen carefully so
we can respond to your requirements, and find the right
vehicle for you. The service package is also tailored to your
operating requirements: with OMNIplus ExpertHandling
Training*, OMNIplus service contracts, and Mercedes-Benz
Financial Services.
The driver makes a good minibus even better. At 10–12 %,
the fuel consumption is a significant cost factor. The environment, as well as your balance sheets, will thank you for
every saving made: and through the perfect interplay
between vehicle technology, intelligent driving style analysis and tailored driver training, you can selectively influence
both factors.
Save fuel – save costs. The Euro VI engines not only reduce the pollutants to a minimum,
but also the fuel consumption and so a considerable portion of the ongoing operational costs.
Investments that pay off. Our OMNIplus EcoTraining shows that saving fuel and keeping to
the schedule are not necessarily in conflict. On request BusStore will ensure you the residual
value, and buy back your vehicle at the end of the defined useful life.

The perfect fit when
others have to pass:
the Sprinter City.
22, 29 or 39 passengers | 6.9–8.7 metres | Specialist
For public transport in narrow inner cities or on routes with a predictable number of
passengers – the Sprinter City is always the ideal solution.
A specialist in every sense. The Sprinter City appears to have been created especial‑
ly for use in narrow inner city areas. Thanks to its compact dimensions, even narrow,
old lanes in the heart of the city are no problem for it. Naturally, the Sprinter City complies with the exhaust gas standard Euro VI that is currently applicable all over Europe,
and so contributes to the reduction of emissions and the improvement of air quality
in already polluted urban areas. With the Sprinter City, you’ll soon have everybody on
your side.
18
19
Customised low-floor range for the city.
Low-floor design
High level of passenger comfort.
Increase your radius of action. With a Sprinter City, you can
easily unlock new business areas for your company. The minibuses are perfectly suited for use on routes with relatively
low numbers of passengers. There are three model variants
for up to 22, 29 or 39 passengers to choose from. Whether
for public transport or a works bus service, whether as a
school bus, night bus or on-call bus, or as a trade-show or
airport shuttle – owing to its versatility, a Sprinter City will
soon become an essential part of your fleet too.
Compact dimensions, great comfort. The Sprinter City
need not shy away from the comparison with a larger bus.
As a “close relative” of the Citaro bus family, it encom‑
passes all the comfort features that are needed in city and
interurban traffic. Numerous equipment features also
unmistakeably reveal its Citaro gene, such as the handrails,
interior panelling, colour designs and floors. The same
applies to the City Star Eco passenger seats, that also impress
with their design, comfort and durability. Its wide outward
swinging doors and a standing height of 2.20 m in the low-floor
section mean that the Sprinter City is exceptionally roomy
and welcoming. In addition, you can choose from three
different roof-mounted air-conditioners that allow individual
adaptation for a pleasant, comfortable atmosphere, even
on extremely hot days. Regardless of the model you select –
your passengers will love the Sprinter City.
Low entry and generous standing height of 2.20 m, plus numerous
features from the Citaro bus family.
20
21
The Sprinter City.
Smart in town.
Comfort included in the timetable. As standard, the Sprinter City comes with a swing
barrier between the driver’s area and passenger compartment and a continuous partition
window behind the driver’s seat. In the City series, the high-strength, padded plastic
bucket seat, City Star Eco, is used for the passenger seating. The same applies to the
air-conditioning comfort. The equipment range includes powerful convector heaters
with axial fans and driver and co-driver air-conditioning systems with fresh-air and circu‑
lating-air functions.
A perfect workplace. In many respects, the driver area in the Sprinter City is like that
of a car. And this, of course, also applies to comfort. From the perfect ergonomics of
the standard rotating swivel seat and practical details such as electric window lifters
and heated and electrically adjustable exterior mirrors to separate driver air conditioning.
For a relaxed and stress-free driving experience in the city, try the standard 7-speed
automatic transmission.

For all who want
to see more:
Sprinter Travel.
16–19 passengers | 7.3–7.7 metres | Comfort specialist
Whether for brief trips, long-distance journeys or VIP tours – the Sprinter Travel has
got a lot on offer for small groups. The minibus Travel is impressive thanks to its economic efficiency, high level of comfort and its timelessly elegant design.
A feast for the eyes. No wonder it makes heads turn: the Sprinter Travel draws
attention with its unique design and its distinctive front. You can recognize its coach
character at the first glance, and then you experience it as soon as you enter the
comfortable, exclusively designed passenger compartment.
24
25
Stay in the profitable zone.
Excellent returns for small groups. No matter where you are heading. With a Sprinter Travel,
you will always reach your destination in excellent comfort. Three model variants and a broad
range of fittings make it easy for you to configure a touring minibus to suit your individual
requirements. With relatively small groups, you will therefore benefit from excellent economic
efficiency by using the full capacity.
The budget expert. The Sprinter Travel has long been one of the major players when it comes
to economy. Equipped with excellent Euro VI technology, the budget specialist is outstanding
thanks to its excellent value. With the latest generation of BlueTec® engines, Mercedes‑Benz
has sustainably optimised the fuel consumption of the Sprinter series. And the Sprinter Travel
will also benefit from this. As well as the engine, the power take-offs, transmission variants
and the rear axles have also been consistently tuned for greater efficiency. This is combined
with the considerably lengthened oil change intervals for diesel vehicles and the extended
servicing intervals governed by usage which the standard ASSYST service computer calculates
according to the load involved, indicating the remaining service life of maintenance components.
And when used as a touring bus on intensive routes, the reduced consumption and longer
servicing intervals of the Sprinter Travel pay off for you mile after mile.
Small travel groups with high comfort demands?
Then the Sprinter Travel is the perfect choice for your journey.

The Sprinter Travel.
Go places in style.
First-class travel comfort. You notice the particular class of the Sprinter Travel as soon
as you get on board. The passenger compartment appears attractive and spacious,
partly thanks to the modular ceiling with integrated LED lighting strips. The roof hatches
and windows, the ventilation grilles for the air-conditioning system and the roof ventila‑
tors are integrated into the ceiling in a flush arrangement. The modern design of the
convection heating adds the perfect touch to the overall harmonious impression. A
particularly shapely seat foot design in the Sprinter Travel 45 and 55 also contributes to
the aura of a larger bus. In the case of the top model, the Sprinter Travel 65, the soft
foamed and embossed partition in front of the first row also contributes to the atmos‑
phere of a high-end touring coach.
The journey is the goal. In a Sprinter Travel, you not only sit comfortably – you also
arrive rested and relaxed. This is ensured by features such as the excellent running
gear, the cosy passenger compartment and the standard driver and passenger air-con‑
ditioning system. Luggage racks, service sets with reading lamps and individually
adjustable ventilation nozzles have been added to the comfortable coach seats with
adjustable backrests. The range includes a particularly powerful roof-mounted air
conditioner for tropically hot regions. And the driver’s station has also increased in
attractiveness. The ergonomic design is optimised by the steering wheel and gear shift,
while the assist systems provide support for safe driving.

Unlimited flexibility:
the Sprinter Transfer.
13–22 passengers | 5.9–7.7 metres | All-rounder
Whether for interurban, school bus service or excursions – the Sprinter Transfer stands
for practically unlimited versatility, thanks to numerous variants. The flexible all-rounder
therefore opens up countless possibilities and options for your benefit.
The economical solutions. The Sprinter Transfers have been winning all the arguments
about economic efficiency hands down for a long time. Not only because you can
exploit their flexibility for numerous tasks, but also because they do not burden your
financial resources. As well as meeting the latest Euro VI standard, the low consumption
of the high-performance BlueTec® engines also saves money on every trip. Equipped
with innovative BlueEFFICIENCY technology, it is also easy to enjoy further consump‑
tion benefits.

A joy to drive. Are you looking for a minibus for a football
team or for an entire school class? No problem. Five model
variants of the Sprinter Transfer are available for 13 to 22
passengers and a choice of numerous fittings and seating
options. Regardless of the Sprinter Transfer you choose –
you are certain to open up a wealth of new options for a
whole range of new applications. The main point is: this
flexible all-rounder will quickly make itself indispensable in
your vehicle fleet.
These minibuses offer great size. For example, with the
wide sliding door or the large entrance at the co-driver door.
This allows the passengers to enter and leave the vehicle
quickly, safely and comfortably. Convenient outward swinging doors are also available as an option. With their large,
flush side windows in a parallelogram shape, the Sprinter
Transfer series not only offers its passengers an outstand‑
ing view, but also emphasises its dynamic performance.
This is particularly true of the Sprinter Transfer 55, which
features its own bus/coach rear with integrated luggage
compartment lid as standard – instead of the rear wing doors.
33
The Sprinter Transfer.
Versatility with style.
Completely inviting. Anybody who takes a seat on the new Sprinter Transfer immedi‑
ately feels comfortable. This is not solely because of the comfortable interurban seats,
the practical luggage racks which can adequately accommodate even large hand
luggage items or even the harmonious design. The spacious, pleasantly high interior
with its flush ceiling design is particularly attractive. The roof hatch, roof ventilator,
ventilation grilles and LED lighting strips are harmoniously integrated, creating a
pleasant atmosphere. Up to four powerful roof-mounted air-conditioning systems are
available for you, depending on the model, to create a pleasant ambience and to suit
your particular requirements perfectly.
Safe and sound – a good feeling. Regardless of whether you are driving a short distance or a longer tour: illuminated exits, passenger seats with lap belts and handles
on the seat backs all help to promote the safety of the passengers. Three-point safety
belts are also available as an option. The driver will be delighted with an ergonomic
multifunction steering wheel with trip computer and cruise control, which can alterna‑
tively control the radio, the on-board computer or the telephone. The standard driver’s
front airbag can be supplemented with a co-driver’s front airbag and also with window
and thorax bags.
34
35
Mobile. More mobile.
The Sprinter Mobility.
5–15 passengers | 5.9–7.3 metres | Quick-change artist
A special school bus in the morning, a community service bus in the afternoon, and a
shared taxi in the evening – the Sprinter Mobility stands for maximum flexibility. The
all-rounder can adapt quickly and individually to the most varied applications.
The quicker, the better. A quick passenger flow is a precondition for you for an economi‑
cally efficient operation. The Sprinter Mobility therefore possesses up to three entrance
and exit doors. Wide door openings and low entrance heights make it easy for your
passengers to get on board. Wheelchair users can also gain easy access via a lift or a
ramp at the rear. The side sliding door or the co-driver door provide convenient access
for all other passengers. On request, the sliding door is also available as an electrical
variant. Various outward swinging doors are available as options in the range.
36
37
This is how safe flexibility can be.
Folding ramp

the Mobility 23 and 33.
38
Low-floor rear lift
Standard access aid for wheelchairs in
the Mobility 35 and 45.
Step
Naturally as standard and can be
extended electrically.
Its name says it all. The Sprinter Mobility is extremely passenger-friendly. Its equipment package designed for persons
with restricted mobility encompasses an electrically extendable step on the side passenger door and an access aid for
wheelchairs at the vehicle rear as standard features. A
folding ramp at the rear takes care of this task in the Sprinter
Mobility 23 and 33, as opposed to a linear lift installed as a
space-saving underfloor lift in the Sprinter Mobility 35 and
45. On opening the rear doors, these align themselves parallel with the sidewall, a magnetic buffer fixes them securely
to the exterior sheet metal and a friendly light above the
doorway welcomes the passengers on board.
Play it safe. Numerous details make the Sprinter Mobility a
particularly safe example of its class and the first choice of
many, especially for conveying disabled people. They include
the sturdy passenger cell, for example, or of course the many
electronic guardian angels. Most notable here is ADAPTIVE
ESP® which increases vehicle stability during abrupt evasive
manoeuvres. You can also add five further assist systems
which allow you to enhance the exemplary safety of your
Sprinter Mobility even further. The side-wind assist system is
even a standard feature in the Sprinter Mobility 23 and 33
models. It compensates almost completely for gusts of wind
and is activated automatically at a speed of 80 km/h and
greater. The high-beam assist system can be fitted as a
single unit or in a package with lane departure warning, blind
spot and collision warning assist systems. For that comfort‑
ing feeling of being optimally supported and perfectly safe at
all times.
39
The Sprinter Mobility.
Flexible movability.
The quick-change artist. You’ve just driven a group of wheelchair users to a sports
event, and now you’ll need the full seating capacity of your Sprinter Mobility to dispatch
it as a shared taxi. No problem. The ability to adapt the passenger compartment
quickly is one of its strengths. The basis of this capability is its airline floor rail system
that facilitates the flexible layout of seating and wheelchair retaining systems. And,
as the passenger seats in the Sprinter Mobility are mounted on quick-change feet,
this can be achieved without tools and in no time at all through simple offsetting or
removal of seats.
Room for feeling good. Despite its compact dimensions, the Sprinter Mobility stands
out because of its generous space, partly due to the 190 cm standing height in the
passenger compartment. The durable floor, wall and ceiling panelling emphasise the
qualities of the Sprinter Mobility with their pleasant texture. Ergonomically shaped
passenger seats with 3-point safety belts keep the passengers safe and comfortable,
even on relatively long journeys.

Important for you. Important for us. Technical data stored in the vehicle.
Electronic vehicle components (e.g. Airbag Control Unit, Engine Control Unit) contain data storage for vehicle technical data, including but not limited to
Diagnostic Trouble Codes in the event of a malfunction, vehicle speed, braking force, or operating conditions of the Restraint System and Driver Assistance
Systems in case of an accident (no audio and no video data recording). This data is either stored as a volatile e.g. Diagnostic Trouble Codes, over a short period
of time (a few seconds only) e.g. in case of an accident or in aggregated form e.g. for component load evaluation. The data can be read using interfaces
connected to the vehicle. Trained technicians can process and utilise the data to diagnose and repair possible malfunctions. The manufacturer can use the data to
analyse and improve vehicle functions. When requested by the customer, technical data can form the basis of additional optional services. In general, data from
the vehicle is transferred to the manufacturer or a third party only where legally allowed, or based on a contractual customer consent in accordance
with data protection laws. Further information regarding storage of vehicle technical data is provided in the vehicle owner’s manual. M
 ercedes-Benz Buses
and Coaches naturally handles customer data confidentially.
