Holy Week
Sunday 9 April – PALM SUNDAY
Mass will begin at the main entrance to the Cathedral with the Gospel proclamation,
blessing of palms and a procession.
Mass (Sat 6pm), 8am, 10am (Family), 1pm (Spanish), 6pm
Solemn Mass 11.30am beginning in Amigo Hall followed by the procession
Stations of the Cross 5pm
Monday 10 April
Mass 7.30am, 12.30pm
Confessions 11.15am-12.15pm
Tuesday 11 April
Mass 7.30am, 12.30pm
Confessions 11.15am-12.15pm
The Cathedral will close at 1.30pm to allow for preparations for the Chrism Mass.
Wednesday 12 April
Chrism Mass 11.30am
The Mass of Chrism with the Archbishop, Bishops, Priests and Deacons, religious and laity from the
Diocese. The holy oils used in the sacraments are blessed and the priests renew their commitment
to the priesthood.
No Confessions
The Cathedral will close at 4pm.

Thursday 13 April – MAUNDY THURSDAY
Morning Prayer 9am
Mass of the Lord's Supper 7.30pm with Mandatum - the washing of feet
Watching at the Altar of Repose After Mass ending with Night Prayer 11.45pm.

Friday 14 April – GOOD FRIDAY
A day of fasting and abstinence.

Ecumenical Walk of Witness from Imperial War Museum 10.15am

Family Mass 10am celebrated by Archbishop Peter Smith

Mass 12.30pm
No other Mass during the day.
Monday: Cathedral open from 10am-1.30pm.
Tuesday-Friday: Cathedral open from 10am-4pm.
Saturday 22 April – EASTER SATURDAY
The Cathedral opens at 10am.
Mass 12.30pm, 6pm (Vigil)
Confessions 11.15am-12.15pm, 5-5.50pm

Sunday 23 April – SECOND SUNDAY OF EASTER
Mass 8am, 10am (Family), 11.30am (Solemn),1pm (Spanish), 6pm
Monday 24 April – ST GEORGE’S DAY
Patronal Solemnity (Transferred)
Mass 7.30am, 12.30pm, 6.30pm (Solemn Sung)
The 6.30pm Mass is followed by a reception in the Amigo Hall.
The Cathedral’s normal Mass & Confession timetable resumes on Tuesday 25 April
