January 2017 It’s Important To Save! Have you heard your parents talking about New Year’s resolutions? That means you are promising yourself to do something better for the New Year. We have an idea for you! You can make a New Year’s resolution to save in your Penny Savers account. Here’s how: Every time you receive money as gifts for the holidays or any special occasion, or if you earn money for chores, plan to save at least half of your money. Of course, more than half is even better – but it’s best to put money in your account that you can leave there for awhile. Maybe you want to start saving for a new bike or toy, or you want your own spending money the next time you take a vacation. If you save in your Penny Savers account, you’ll have the money you need. It’s a really good idea to make saving a habit because it will help you as you get older. A savings account can be just like you – growing and getting bigger every day! Plus, start saving and you’ll receive a special CU Advantage piggy bank* when you… • Make a $25 deposit into your Penny Savers savings account, or • Open a new Youth Add-On CD with an initial deposit of $25 or more. *Offer for Penny Savers members only, while supplies last.
