Augusta is one of the oldest townships in Ontario with roots dating
back to the 1700s. Here you will find both historic houses and ultramodern estates. Augusta communities include Algonquin, Domville,
Maitland, Maynard, North Augusta, and Roebuck. Algonquin is a
quiet residential community and is home to the township's library.
Domville is a hamlet north of Prescott and boasts the Community
Park. Maitland is a riverfront community that is also known for its
recreational facility (MERC) and its ski trails. Attractions
include Homewood Museum, Blue Church, Point Baril, Antique
Wheels in Motion and the North Augusta Labour Day Festival.
The Township of Augusta boasts such large industries as the Ultramar Maitland Terminal, Nitrochem, PraxAir, E.I. du Pont Canada Company, Invista Canada and Evonik Industries. Augusta is where many small
