Meter Sticks are Everywhere
"What are those?" Serena questioned.
"They look like rulers," Stephanie stated.
"Those are meter sticks," Frank piped in.
"I wonder what they are for," Sarah added.
"Ladies and gentlemen," Mr. Nasello began. "I have a whole pile of meter sticks here, 30 for each group of students."
"Why is he dumping them on the floor?" Taya asked.
"He is crazy" Lindsey whispered.
"I think he's losing his mind," Kaitlyn agreed.
"With these meter sticks, I want you to make shapes," Mr. N. continued. "The Grade 5's will make rectangles, the Grade 6's will make parallelograms."
"You're right, this is cuckoo. I bet he bumped his head again," Madison observed.
"He needs a rest," Noor agreed.
"That's a Leaf fan for you," Michael added. "The goal is to use these meter sticks to create the shape with the biggest area. Begin now," Mr. N directed! Mr. Nasello then slowly walked back to his desk to rest his head. Maybe the students were right after all!
