Dr Ryan has been practicing in the field of
laparoscopic obesity surgery for 9 years in
Sydney. He is a Staff Specialist at
Westmead Hospital in the Department of
Surgery and Transplantation since 2006.
Claudia has many years experience in the
field of Bariatric Surgery. She understands
the needs and unique issues facing postoperative bariatric patients. All postoperative bariatric patients will have regular
consultations with Claudia, where they
will be given appropriate food and dietary
advice as well as careful monitoring of
vitamin levels.
Surgeon
Professor Henry Pleass
Professor Pleass, holds the Academic
Chair of Surgery and is the Director
of Transplant Surgery at Westmead
Hospital. Professor Pleass is one of the
most experienced and active surgeons at
Westmead Hospital.
Surgeon
Dr Carolyn Jameson
Dr Jameson is a bariatric and general
surgeon who has a regular clinic in Penrith
as well as Westmead. She provides on
call service for acute general surgery at
Westmead Private Hospital. Dr Jameson
is an experienced researcher and holds a
PhD in Medicine with the University
of Sydney.
Anesthetist
Dr John Leyden
Dr Leyden has over 10 years’ experience in
obesity anesthesia. He works as a Cardiac
Anaesthetist in the public hospital system.
Dr Leyden assesses all patients preoperatively in our clinic, understanding
that peri-operative optimisation is vital
to the surgical success of the bariatric
patient.

Director of Pro Fit Lifestyle Clinic, Parramatta. Anthony &
Noella specialise in group exercise classes for patients with
chronic illnesses. Patients at our clinic attend bariatric grouptraining programmes with Exercise Physiologist supervision.
