word and what happens when we add ‘ed.’ If
the base word ends in a CVC, we double the
last C and add ‘ed.’ If the base word ends in an
‘e,’ we drop the ‘e’ and add the ‘ed.’ There are
some words that end in VCC and VVC where
we just add the ‘ed.’

drop the ‘y’ and change it to an ‘ily.’
