In Rome about Polish Investments for
Development and energy security
Włodzimierz Karpiński, the Minister of Treasury met with Federica
Guidi, the Minister of Economic Development of Italy. The
meeting concerned the economic cooperation and the energy
security. - Italy belongs to the group of the most important
economic partners of Poland. We want to develop the dynamic
Polish-Italian economic cooperation – said Włodzimierz Karpiński
during the meeting.
While in Rome, Włodzimierz Karpiński also met with Govanni Gorno Tiempini, the director of Cassa
Depositi e Prestiti (Fund of Deposits and Loans) which is the Italian leader in financing the
investment of public entities (among others infrastructural ones) and the key entity supporting the
Italian enterprises. The topic was the Polish Investments programme, the aim of which is to
support the execution of profitable infrastructural investments in the sector of energy, gas,
municipal services or local government investments. The pillars of the Polish Investments are Bank
Gospodarstwa Krajowego and the Polish Investments for Development.
The governmental “Polish Investments” programme was presented by Włodzimierz Karpiński also
during the meeting with Italian entrepreneurs.
Italy is the third trade partner of Poland in the European Union and the fifth country on the list of
the biggest foreign investors in Poland. The Italian investors also actively participated in the
privatisation processes conducted in Poland.
