learning the difference of one (7-6,4-3,9-8,etc) subtraction facts.
Our Reading theme is “What’s the Weather” with the main story

and contrasting (alike and different), learning that words can have 2
meanings, and understanding a telephone directory. High
frequency words to know are: cold, predict, extreme, sound, great,
warm, know and their. Listen as your first grader reads the take
home booklets this week. Try to have them read each evening.
Grammar lessons will focus on the verbs “go” and “do”. These verbs have
different forms to tell about the present and the past – go/goes (present) and
went (past); do/does (present) and did (past).
While working on our Writing, we will focus on opinion pieces. Learning to
state our opinion and give reasons as to why we feel that way.
