ETPPA hold two major performances every year; the mid-year Demo Day and the End of Year Concert. Demo Day is an uncostumed event that allows the singing and dance students the opportunity to perform the skills and routines they have learnt throughout terms 1 and 2 on stage for parents and friends. Demo Day signifies the end of the first semester. The following information should contain all you need to know for this performance. Demo Day will be fully supervised by accredited ETPAA teachers, admin staff and allocated minders all whom have current Working with Children or Police Clearances. Demo Day will be held in Week 10 Sunday 10th July at The Parks Community Theatres in Angle Park. This year the Glee and private singing students will perform their concert first at 1:30pm. DANCE STUDENTS HAVE TWO PERFORMANCES - The dance students will perform two concerts this year as the theatre is smaller than some of the theatres we have used in the past. We want to ensure all parents have the opportunity to see their children on stage. It is compulsory for students to perform in BOTH dance concerts. Students who cannot commit to both concerts cannot perform at all. There are no required rehearsals for Demo Day. PLEASE NOTE: Tinies students will only perform in concert 1 (3.30pm) Venue details & directions Demo Day will be held at the Parks Community Theatres in Angle Park. There is plenty of free parking available. The performances will be held in Theatre 2. Parks Community Theatre: (08) 8406 2900 ADDRESS – 46 Cowan Street Angle Park 5010 Contact for the day- Lana Adamuszek- Ph. 0413429735 Tickets Tickets are available for purchase from Essential Talent reception from Week 7 MONDAY 20th JUNE we accept cash, credit or EFTPOS. We recommend purchasing your tickets prior to the performance. The theatre has numbered seating so purchase early so as not to be disappointed. There is limited seating for each performance. The only tickets available for sale on the day will be any spare seats not sold previously. These tickets can be purchased by cash only on the day of performance. ADULTS- $15 CHILD - $10 (under 13 years) Schedule 1:00pm- Glee and private singing students arrival 1:30pm- Singing concert to begin 2:30pm approx- Singing concert to end PLEASE NOTE: all singing students who are NOT performing in the dance concert will be released to parents for pick up at the end of the singing concert. If they are performing in the dance concerts they are to stay backstage with their teacher/minder. 3:00pm- Dance students arrival- hair/ make-up done 3:30pm- Concert 1 to begin 5:00pm approx- Concert 1 to finish - PLEASE NOTE: Tinies students will be released to parents for pick up at the end of Concert 1 Break- all students to remain in dressing rooms 5:30pm- Concert 2 to begin 7:00pm approx- Concert 2 to finish- All students will be released to parents for pick up at end of concert 2. Student drop off and collection DROP OFF - Parents please drop your children at Theatre foyer of the Parks Community Theatre. All students will have to report to Essential Talent staff to be marked off the attendance register. All students will be supervised by Essential Talent (WWC) staff once registered until collection after the performance. PICK UP – Parents must come into the foyer of the Parks Community Theatre to collect your children. The students will be released into the foyer one class at a time immediately after the performance. Once you have collected your children please leave the foyer to allow the next group of students to be released. What do I need to bring Uniform Private Singing/GLEE students- must arrive with hair and make-up done in their own choice of outfit for their performance. Dance Students- Are asked to arrive at the theatre wearing their ETPAA T-shirt and/or ETPAA jacket with black dance pants / tights. PLEASE NOTE: - T-shirts were given to students who performed in the 2015 End of Year Concert- students who have only begun classes in 2016 are not expected to have this). - Jackets were purchased in 2015, contact Lana if you would like to purchase a jacket and for ordering updates. Costumes There is no specific costuming for this day and students are to wear the dance clothes worn during their classes e.g. black leotard and black jazz pants. However tutors are encouraged to give their students a theme or colour for their performance attire e.g. black & red, black and lace etc. All students can co ordinate their performance attire in these colour’s from clothes they already have at home. There is no need to buy new clothes to wear for the Demo Day performances. Teachers will specifically instruct their students on colour choices. Boys 13 Years + Must wear a support with all dance attire. Shoes/ Stockings Students must wear the correct dance shoes for their routine. Please make sure shoes and clothing are clearly labelled in case of loss. Fiesta stockings for jazz and tap routines are optional for Demo Day. Pink ballet tights are compulsory for Classical routines. For boys- If black jazz shoes or black tap shoes are required, black socks must also be worn. Tinies Jazz/Classical- Pink Ballet Shoes Tap- Tan Tap shoes Adult Beginner and Advanced Jazz- Black Jazz Shoes Tap- Black Tap Shoes Junior Youth Jazz- Tan Jazz Shoes Tap- Tan Tap Shoes Classical- Pink Ballet Shoes Junior and Senior Hip Hop Sneakers Junior and Senior Acrobatics No shoes or stockings Youth Jazz- Black Jazz Shoes Tap- Tan Tap Shoes Classical- Pink Ballet Shoes Cardio Dance and Specialised Dance Jazz Shoes or Sneakers Senior Youth Intermediate and Advanced Jazz- Black Jazz Shoes Tap- Black Tap Shoes Classical- Pink Ballet Shoes Pointe- Pink Pointe Shoes Hair and Make-Up All students must arrive with hair and stage make-up done. The teacher will specify how hair needs to be styled. It is also a good idea to bring; Hairbrush Hair ties Bobby pins Hairspray Make- up (for touch ups) Safety pins Deodorant Bun nets Bun clips Make-up wipes Jewellery No jewellery is to be worn on stage at all, unless it is a piece of your costume. All earrings, watches, bracelets etc are to be removed prior to first performance. Please endeavour to leave these valuables at home to ensure nothing is lost at the theatre. Snacks and Water All singing and dance students should bring plenty of water with them- no fruit juice or milk. There is no allocated meal break but dance students may also like to bring light snacks along with them. It should involve clean foods such as grapes, pretzels, rice crackers etc – nothing that would stain clothes. Please refrain from bringing any products that may contain nuts. Medications If your child requires any medication to keep with them e.g. Ventolin, Epipen etc, please make sure that they have this with them in a clearly labeled zip lock bag in case of any emergency. Term 3 information Term 3 will commence on Monday 25th July. It is important that you let us know that your child is returning to classes for terms 3 and 4 to perform in the end of year concert. We also need to know if there are any changes to classes they are enrolled in. Returning slips can be completed and placed inside the gold box at reception. This helps our administration immensely.
