Training Course on Geomorphological Mapping in Coastal Areas Malta, 14-18 November 2016 Council of Europe European Major Hazards agreement Created in 1987, the European and Mediterranean Major Hazards Agreement (EUR-OPA) is a platform for co-operation between European and Southern Mediterranean countries in the field of major natural and technological disasters. Its field of action covers the knowledge of hazards, risk prevention, risk management, postcrisis analysis and rehabilitation. Euro-Mediterranean Centre on Insular Coastal Dynamics European Centre on Geomorphological Hazards – Website: www.coe.int/europarisks The Euro-Mediterranean Centre on Insular Coastal Dynamics (ICoD) is a specialised centre of the EUR-OPA Major Hazards Agreement of the Council of Europe. ICoD forms part of the Institute of Earth Systems (IES) at the University of Malta. The IES regards human resource capacity building as fundamental and works towards training specialists in various aspects of environmental science, environmental and natural resource management, integrated planning, and the rural sciences. The European Centre on Geomorphological Hazards (CERG) is both a specialised research centre of the EUR-OPA Major Hazards Agreement of Council of Europe and a nongovernmental international association (defined on the basis of the French law 1901) with active, corresponding and honorary members.
