NEWLANDS TOY LIBRARY BOUNCY CASTLE - PRIVATE HIRE AGREEMENT It is the responsibility of the person who is hiring this Bouncing Castle to ensure that all possible steps are taken to avoid injury or damage to the Inflatable. They must ensure that the following Safety Instructions are followed: 1. The bouncy castle must be supervised at all times by a responsible adult (over the age of 18) who must have read and understood these conditions. 2. No food, drinks, ice cream or chewing gum to be allowed on or near the Bouncy Castle which will avoid choking and mess (Please note if the Inflatable is returned in a dirty condition then the person who hired it will incur a cleaning charge). 3. Ensure that all users remove their footwear (except socks), and any other hard, sharp or dangerous objects, large buckles, toys pens, knives, jewellery, badges etc. Spectacles are best removed. 4. No silly string, face paints, party poppers or coloured streamers to be used either on or near the Bouncy Castle. 5. No pets, toys or sharp instruments to be allowed on or near the Bouncy Castle. 6. Please ensure that children do not attempt somersaults, are clothed appropriately, and are not carrying items that may fall out of their pockets and cause harm. 7. No smoking or barbeques near the Bouncy Castle. 8. Never allow anyone to climb or hang on the outside walls. 9. Always ensure that the Bouncy Castle is not overcrowded, and limit numbers according to the age and size of the children using it. Try to avoid large and small children from using it at the same time. The maximum weight a child can be is 45kg and the combined total of children must not exceed 180kg. 10. If the Bouncy Castle is not being used for any part of the day, please switch the blower off at the mains and disconnect the power cord. 11. Do not allow anyone to bounce on the front safety step as a child could easily bounce off the inflatable and get hurt. The step is there to assist users in getting on and off! 12. Ensure that no-one with a history of back or neck problems is allowed on the Bouncy Castle, or indeed any child who is feeling unwell or has a communicable disease. 13. Do not allow users to be on the unit during inflation/deflation. This is DANGEROUS. 14. Ensure that an area of 6 feet (2 metres) around each side of the unit is completely clear. 15. The Bouncy Castle should not be used if it becomes wet on the jumping area. If no shower cover is fitted and in the event of rain, the unit should not be used. 16. In the event of heavy rain, it is strongly recommended that the Bouncy Castle be switched off. Any wetness, including bubbling (which is normal) can be dried with a towel. 17. In the event that the blower stops working, please ensure all users remove themselves from the inflatable immediately. In the event that it overheats, or loses power, switch the blower off at the mains, then switch it back on again 2 or 3 minutes later, it should now restart. If it does not, inform us immediately. 18. Safety mats may be provided, the hirer must make sure that the mats are used correctly at the entrance to the castle and not moved away from the inflatable. NEWLANDS TOY LIBRARY 19. Where safety equipment is provided users of the bouncy castle will have to use it. 20. The inflatable is manufactured from flame and smoke retardant materials; it is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure that no part of the inflatable or its ancillary equipment obstructs any escape route. 21. In the event of a loss of power, for whatever reason, all users should be asked to vacate the inflatable in a timely and orderly fashion. 22. New lands Toy Library holds no responsibility for accidents, injuries or deaths that may occur when hiring the bouncy castle.
