COLLECTOR PANS
Armtec collector pans are a modular system of steel pans and drains, installed
on railroad tracks to catch waste, such as spilled diesel fuel, oils, greases and
other pollutants. The collector pan system covers the area between and
immediately outside rails. Cross drains installed at right angles to the track
between the ties carry wastes and rainwater into under-drains and on to
treatment and disposal facilities such as Armtec VortClarex, Oil/Water
Separators or Storm Filter units.

NOTE
• All components of the Armtec collector pan system except grating, fasteners and
non-metallic items are fabricated from commercial quality hot-rolled steel meeting ASTM
Designation A-569. Non-skid gratings are used. If required, pans and steel grating can be
hot dipped galvanized.

COLLECTOR PANS
TYPE 1
Armtec collector pans Type 1 are generally used at fueling areas, washing facilities and industrial tracks with heavy
waste loads. They are slightly tighter than Type 2 pans against spills and are best suited for most critical areas.

Armtec Collector Pans simple modular design are conducive to rapid
installation times. Typical crew sizes consist of one welder and four or five
unskilled labourers. Tools that are usually found at Collector Pan installations
include burning equipment, welding equipment, appropriate wrenches, 8”
c-clamps or large vice-grips, and a track mounted dolly to move pans from
storage to installation.
