Good conditions - little breeze, but as usual a mental battle over the 2 lap route with the prom going on forever! 1st of 9 race winter series so can be recommended for a good. email from Steve Hale U17G U15B U17G U20M U17B U17B SEN 1 Ben Morley GWR 2 Matt Newman Unattached 3 Anthony Glover Westbury 8 Brian Charters 1V40 Exeter 9 Steve Hale 1V50 Team Bath 21 Robyn Golding 1L Westbury 224 finishers Try out our COBAC Web Site at www.teambathac.org 26.54 27.49 28.34 29.20 29.25 30.49 Next Tuesday 22nd September Martin Rush England Athletics National Coach Mentor for Endurance will be giving a talk on Long Term Targeting for a Race. Sadly Alan then collapsed at 41k, did not complete the marathon and spent the afterThe hot conditions (24c and sunny) played noon in hospital. Fortunately Alan is now a big part in yesterdays Berlin Marathon as ok says he "now knows about how brutal a marathon can be" Alan Buckingham hit the wall in Berlin. Alan was looking for a time of 2:37 following on from his pb in the Bristol Half two weeks ago. Craig Davey also ran a fairly evenly paced race. Craig´s time of 3:12 was about what he was looking for. Berlin is a flat fast course, it was a shame the weather was so warm. He was using it as a `get fit' marathon. He said he paid for missing out on training but was pleased to get under the 'good for age' cut off of 3:15 I ran a fairly evenly paced race. It was obvious from about 15k that my pb of 2:45 was out of range in the heat. I went through halfway in 1;23:27 and finished in There were over 44,000 finishers making Alan went through halfway in 1:18, he had 2:49:21. I came 446 overall. I have now Berlin the biggest field of the 5 marathon slowed to 2:32 by the 40k mark, but was completed the five marathon majors of Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago and New majors. still on for a pb.
