Strong Middle Distance Squad
The future of Middle Distance at the club looks strong no fewer
than 23 athletes getting into the national ranking from 800m to
3000m. Below are the detail for each athlete giving there age
group, South West Ranking and National Ranking.

Well done to all, this is great reward for all the hard training put
in over the year.
Unfortunately there is no rest as they with the Cross Country and
Road races coming up over the winter.
Need Any Advice?
Steve Hale - Top Vet in Prom
I finished 9th and 1st MV50 in the first of
Weston 5 mile prom races last Thursday. Lots of repair work on prom meant a
little more care than usual!
Good conditions - little breeze, but as
usual a mental battle over the 2 lap route
with the prom going on forever! 1st of 9
race winter series so can be recommended
for a good.

talk on Long Term Targeting for a Race.
The talk will take place in the Sports
Village Café meeting room starting at
8pm.
There will be plenty of time for discussion and questions. All are welcome.

Three Men to Berlin!!

Dave Coales reports from Berlin.
Sadly Alan then collapsed at 41k, did not
complete the marathon and spent the afterThe hot conditions (24c and sunny) played noon in hospital. Fortunately Alan is now

how brutal a marathon can be"
Alan Buckingham hit the wall in Berlin.
Alan was looking for a time of 2:37 following on from his pb in the Bristol Half
two weeks ago.
Craig Davey also ran a fairly evenly paced
race. Craig´s time of 3:12 was about what
he was looking for. Berlin is a flat fast
course, it was a shame the weather was so
warm. He was using it as a `get fit' marathon. He said he paid for missing out on
training but was pleased to get under the
'good for age' cut off of 3:15

We had a good day out on Saturday (10th
September) in a sunny Sutton Park for the
Midland Counties Road Relays. It was
pleasing to have both men's and ladies
teams compete given we didn't manage to
field a team in either competition last year. Ladies Results
