WHAT
Workplace trends are beginning to influence lighting design more than ever
before. Mobile workforce and telecommuting is now mainstream and office
spaces are becoming underutilized in some industries. When new challenges
arise in the way we use our space, how are we to react to optimize space usage,
provide appropriate designs, and have a return on investment for the new
technologies at our fingertips? A conscious effort to utilize emerging technology
in the workplace can help attract and retain young talent while keeping the more
experienced workforce satisfied and comfortable with technological
advancements. This presentation will examine common workplace strategies for
lighting design and control and introduce emerging technology for space
optimization. The goal of these design applications is to have more productive
effort and time from employees while saving energy.
DETAILS
Peter Strand is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and began his
professional career with Luma Sales Associates following graduation. While with
Luma the focus was on reducing our clients energy needs by providing more
efficient lighting, with energy efficient sources like LED and fluorescent. Peter’s
expertise includes creating and completing accurate lighting schedules, layout
design, budget quotes, maintaining communication between manufacturers,
distributors, architects, and engineers. He has been technically trained in and
presents to designers on products and application techniques as part of ongoing
workplace education. In August of 2012 Peter joined Commscope and has
focused on end user sales and consulting.
WHO
This program is designed for lighting designers, architects, engineers, interior
designers, contractors, building managers, and manufacturers representatives
who are interested in gaining a better understanding of new and emerging
practices in lighting control systems. Please share this invitation with your
friends, coworkers, and clients.
