Field Day Station Descriptions
Field Stations:
Playground play: Just as it is named. Students play on the
playground. They may only play 4 square on the court
closest to the playground.
Parachute Men: Students get a partner and play catch back and
forth with the parachute men.
Hula Hoops: Students take the hula hoops and hula hoop around
body parts. They can jump in and out of them while on the grass.
Encourage them to use their imagination!
Obstacle Course: In 2 lines, one student races the other over,
under, around, and through the obstacles.
Sack Race: Students line up behind the 6 cones. The first student in each
line steps inside the sack and holds it with both hands. On the go signal,
those students jump in the sack up around the cones and back. First back
is the winner. Next group goes when everyone is ready.
Hippity Hop Race: Students line up behind the 6 cones. The
first student in each line sits on the hippity hop. On the go
signal, those students bounce around the cones and back. First
back is the winner. Next group goes when everyone is ready.
Frisbee Fun: (K-2). Students line up behind the cones facing the disc golf hole. In each
basket is a foam frisbee and a soft foam ball. Students take turns in line trying to get
either the frisbee or ball into the target. After three minutes, make new teams. For
Preschool, have them play catch with the foam frisbees.
Soccer Kick: Students line up in two lines. Pick one student from
each line to be the goalie. The other students try to kick the ball
past the goalie. If they score a goal, they get to be the new goalie.
Bathroom & Break: Self explanatory!

School Stations:
Take Turns Tricycle Ride: All students line up behind the boundary
line. The first 12 students go onto the ride and ride the tricycles.
After 2 minutes or so, students on the ride get off the tricycles,
and then get back in line. The next 12 in line go onto the ride. The
faster the students get off the ride, the more turns they will get.
Students must be safe (No crashing or going outside the
boundaries).
Jump Rope: Students use the items provided to jump
rope. Stress safety when swinging the ropes.
Face Painting & Drawing:
Students sit to have face
painted or they can draw a
picture about field day.
Cup Stacking: Students take turns racing each other
or timing themselves while cup stacking. Students can
also use the red solo cups to build towers and
pyramids. Students may not use the cups on the
tables to build towers and pyramids, only the red
solo cups.
Balance World: Students use the items provided to
balance their bodies in many ways. Students need to
share and take turns with the equipment.
Parachute Shark Game: Choose one student to be the
shark (They go under the parachute.). Choose one
student to be the lifeguard (They stand around the
outside of the parachute.). Everyone else sits on the floor
with their legs under the parachute. If the shark pulls
someone under the parachute, that student then turns
into a shark. The lifeguard tries to save those being
pulled under. When most students are under the
parachute, start a new game.
Bathroom & Break: Self explanatory!
Stomp Rocket: In three lines, students take turns stomping on the
rocket launcher. Students go get their rockets and return to get in
line again.
Home Run Hit: In three lines, students hit the ball off the tee (or
they can throw the ball up to themself) and try to hit it over the
fence. If they hit it over the fence, they have to run around go
through the gate, and get the ball. Stress safety when swinging the
bat. Students must stay back to line up behind the small cones.
