Field Day Station Descriptions Field Stations: Playground play: Just as it is named. Students play on the playground. They may only play 4 square on the court closest to the playground. Parachute Men: Students get a partner and play catch back and forth with the parachute men. Hula Hoops: Students take the hula hoops and hula hoop around body parts. They can jump in and out of them while on the grass. Encourage them to use their imagination! Obstacle Course: In 2 lines, one student races the other over, under, around, and through the obstacles. Sack Race: Students line up behind the 6 cones. The first student in each line steps inside the sack and holds it with both hands. On the go signal, those students jump in the sack up around the cones and back. First back is the winner. Next group goes when everyone is ready. Hippity Hop Race: Students line up behind the 6 cones. The first student in each line sits on the hippity hop. On the go signal, those students bounce around the cones and back. First back is the winner. Next group goes when everyone is ready. Frisbee Fun: (K-2). Students line up behind the cones facing the disc golf hole. In each basket is a foam frisbee and a soft foam ball. Students take turns in line trying to get either the frisbee or ball into the target. After three minutes, make new teams. For Preschool, have them play catch with the foam frisbees. Soccer Kick: Students line up in two lines. Pick one student from each line to be the goalie. The other students try to kick the ball past the goalie. If they score a goal, they get to be the new goalie. Bathroom & Break: Self explanatory! Field Day Station Descriptions School Stations: Take Turns Tricycle Ride: All students line up behind the boundary line. The first 12 students go onto the ride and ride the tricycles. After 2 minutes or so, students on the ride get off the tricycles, and then get back in line. The next 12 in line go onto the ride. The faster the students get off the ride, the more turns they will get. Students must be safe (No crashing or going outside the boundaries). Jump Rope: Students use the items provided to jump rope. Stress safety when swinging the ropes. Face Painting & Drawing: Students sit to have face painted or they can draw a picture about field day. Cup Stacking: Students take turns racing each other or timing themselves while cup stacking. Students can also use the red solo cups to build towers and pyramids. Students may not use the cups on the tables to build towers and pyramids, only the red solo cups. Balance World: Students use the items provided to balance their bodies in many ways. Students need to share and take turns with the equipment. Parachute Shark Game: Choose one student to be the shark (They go under the parachute.). Choose one student to be the lifeguard (They stand around the outside of the parachute.). Everyone else sits on the floor with their legs under the parachute. If the shark pulls someone under the parachute, that student then turns into a shark. The lifeguard tries to save those being pulled under. When most students are under the parachute, start a new game. Bathroom & Break: Self explanatory! Stomp Rocket: In three lines, students take turns stomping on the rocket launcher. Students go get their rockets and return to get in line again. Home Run Hit: In three lines, students hit the ball off the tee (or they can throw the ball up to themself) and try to hit it over the fence. If they hit it over the fence, they have to run around go through the gate, and get the ball. Stress safety when swinging the bat. Students must stay back to line up behind the small cones.
