We run many programs and acvies for seniors to get involved in the community and get acve as well
as making sure they get the support services they need.
This booklet has been produced to highlight the range of acvies available at our five Senior Cizens
Centres, the Carrington Centre, Aquac Centres and local Community Centres.
The booklet was first produced in 1999 to coincide with Internaonal Year of Older Persons. It has proved
to be a valuable resource, providing contact numbers for a range of different acvies available to
residents over the age of 55 years.
There are plenty of benefits to gain from parcipang in community groups and acvies. The friendships
formed, the interacon and the physical acvity are all important things that our Seniors need in their
lives.
Its never too late to learn new skills, meet new people or find a new hobby. Why not try Tai Chi, gentle
exercise, aqua classes or dancing?
I encourage all Seniors to get involved and live life to the fullest.
