35MM FOCAL LENGTH CONVERSION CHART FOR LARGE FORMAT LENSES I created the chart below to help modern day photographers convert the familiar 35mm focal lengths to large format lens focal lengths. Keep in mind these factors and values are approximate and should be used as a general guideline. I included the lens factor at the top of the chart so that you can calculate any equivalent focal length. I use this chart when I am in the field hiking and exploring the landscape. I take a small digital camera with me to use as my modern day “polaroid”. I compose and create my polaroid’s with the DSLR and then if I like what I see, I get out my large format gear. I use a cheap DSLR with an all in one lens that covers from wide angle to telephoto.
