Stephen Harper Raises Money for CASJAFVA On March 31, 2005

Stephen Harper Raises Money for CASJAFVA
On March 31, 2005, less than one year ago, Stephen Harper helped raise
approximately $15,000 for a far right, third party social policy advocacy group
called the Canadian Alliance for Social Justice and Family Values Association
(CASJAFVA) at a large fundraising dinner in Richmond, British Columbia.
CASJAFVA lobbies governments on social policy issues such as same sex
marriage and abortion and publishes a bi-monthly magazine advocating
conservative social policies using reprehensible images, including caricatures of
Prime Ministers Martin and Chrétien as Nazi’s pictured with Hitler. (PDFs of
these magazine covers are attached below) The publication also includes
extreme statements comparing same sex marriage to child molestation,
necrophilia and torture. (Chinese New Year JPG attached below)

Harper was joined at the fundraising dinner by Conservative MPs Art Hanger and
John Duncan.

The approximately $15,000 the March 2005 fundraiser generated assisted this
organization to function and to produce third-party political advertising opposing
the federal government’s and Prime Minister’s position on issues such as same
sex marriage and abortion.
Speeches from that dinner by Conservative Senator Anne Cools and MP Art
Hanger appeared in the May/June 2005 Magazine

CASJAFVA has a long standing relationship with the Conservative Party of
Canada. Since at least 2002, high profile Conservative (formerly Alliance) MPs
have appeared at large fundraising dinners to help fund this group’s lobby efforts.
At their annual fundraising dinner in 2002, John Duncan appeared on stage to
receive a CASJAFVA Achievement Award. Conservative Party Justice Critic Vic
Toews appeared on stage at their 2003 fundraising dinner to receive a similar
award and on May 13, 2003 recognized the group and supported their efforts in
the House of Commons:

The CASJAFVA 2004 annual fundraiser featured recently-retired Conservative
MP, and former Alliance Party Justice Critic, Randy White as guest speakers
Further, as recently as last October 16 2005, at another CASJAFVA fundraiser
providing the organization further funds to advertise on social issues in this
election campaign, high profile Conservative MP Jason Kenney said:
“Your organization is respected and admired across Canada for its work to
defend the most important institution of society: the family. You have done so
against the tides of political correctness. You have stood up for the truth even
when it has not been easy or fashionable to do so.”

The Conservative party clearly has a long history of support for this group’s
activities and of assisting them to raise money to lobby and advertise on
government policy.
On the cover of the July/August 2005 edition of their biweekly magazine – just
months after Stephen Harper raised money to support their efforts the following
front cover appeared:

Past cartoons in the publication include the one attached below comparing
former Prime Minister Chrétien to Hitler:

Issue #62 – Nov/Dec 2005, Page 10: Transcript of Jason Kenney Speech
“Faith, Freedom and Family” to CASJAVFA Fundraiser on October 16, 2005
“Your organization is respected and admired across Canada for its work to
defend the most important institution of society: the family…”
“They [the architects of Canada] knew that the basis of human and civil rights
was not the shifting sands of political fashion, or public opinion, or the whims of
judges; but rather the inalienable dignity of every human person created in the
image and likeness of God.”

“Despite health hazards associated with anal sex and the tremendous burden on
the collapsing health care system, it is unconscionable for the federal Liberal
government, and some of the activist judges to continue unabated to promote
and encourage conducts susceptible to numerous diseases.”

CASJAFVA Dinner Stephen Harper Attended
“For the first time ever, in the history of humanity we are seeing the subjugation
of children’s needs, especially children of future generations, the subjugation of
the interests of children’s needs to adult sexual choices and adult sexual
preferences and desires.”

“However ‘sexual orientation’ shares no fundamental characteristics possessed
by race, gender, sex, age etc. as the latter are fixed and unchangeable whereas
the former is nothing more than a preference or inclination.”

Issue #58 –March/ April 2005, Page 8: Hog and Hogwash
“In spite of the propaganda and coerciveness for general acceptance of
homosexuality as a fixed inborne trait (which is unsupported by credible
evidence), people with such problems continue to seek help for corrective result.
In other words, the problem is considered to be capable of being corrected. With
the disclosure by the Vancouver Sun, the code [identifying homosexuality as a
mental disorder] has been dropped and one of the few avenues open to people
seeking help is now closed.”

Issue #57 – Jan/Feb 2005, Page 12: Hog and Hogwash
“Paul Martin through his notorious actions in trying to dechristianize Canada, to
demolish the traditional marriage, to decriminalize marijuana, to legitimize same
sex marriage, to increase the democratic deficit, to encourage abortion, to foster
victimization, to put Canadian soldiers in harms way without proper manpower,
equipment, and material resources, and to destabilize Canadian society as a
whole is no less a terrorist himself albeit a moral terrorist. It takes a terrorist to
tango with another terrorist in perfect step.”

Issue #55 – Sept/Oct 2004, Page 9: Hog and Hogwash
“If commitment is the only necessary essence of marriage, then this criterion
could be applied to pedophilia relationship, incestuous relationship, bestiality,
polyandry, polygamy etc.”

Issue #54 – July/Aug 2004, Page 2: Editorial
“Paul Martin is the quintessential Liberal who claims to be a devout Catholic, yet
his conduct consistently shows the opposite of what a devout Catholic would not
do. Abortion, same-sex marriage, decriminalizing marijuana and fear mongering
are just some of the examples that come to mind.”

Issue #52 – March 2004, Page 9: Same Sex Marriage and the Education of
Children
A “Statement by Mission America” article that includes the following:
“There is much evidence that homosexual desire and identity develops, although
usually not consciously, out of ones life experiences. Child sexual abuse is
frequently a factor.
Homosexuality involves practices that are dangerous and high risk to the body,
which is designed for heterosexual function, so the first priority of adults who
really care for youth should be to help them at all costs avoid these behaviors.
Some of these unsafe practices are anal sexual intercourse, foreign objects used
in sexual intercourse, anal or oral sex with strangers, and promiscuity. [Their
underline]
Finding homosexuality repulsive is a natural human instinct to protect oneself,
and is common to most humans, not just a few conservatives. Within the bounds
of kindness and civility, students, teachers, and parents who find the behavior
personally repugnant should continue to have the right to express this opinion.”

Issue #49 – September 2003, Page 3: Editorial Speech
“The reason that the Charter was able to become part of our Constitution, was
(and still is) that a safety valve in the form of the ‘Notwithstanding Clause’
(Section 33 of the Charter) was provided. Section 33 provides that the
Parliament or provincial legislatures may expressly declare that the Act or a
provision thereof shall operate notwithstanding section 2.”
“If Parliament or premiers do not have the courage to do the right thing by
invoking Section 33 in monumental issue such as marriage, I fail to see under
what other circumstance that politicians would use Section 33.”

Issue #48 – July 2003, Page 2: Editorial
“Firstly the term ‘sexual orientation’ has not been defined. On its face, it could
include heterosexuality, homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, transexuality,
pedophilia, polygamy, bestiality, sadistic-sexuality, masochistic sexuality and
incestuous-sexuality”

“The new Immigration Act is doing two things: Firstly, it creates obstacles for the
more traditional family oriented Asian potential applicants. Second, it opens the
door to homosexuals form around the world.”

necrophilia, self mutilation or torture of others, polygamy or unnatural sexual
behaviors" [Translated from Chinese]
