Student Learning Expectations: Students will be quizzed over a story that they read in class on
Thursday and Friday of last week.

minutes to read from their library books. I will remind them of the AR due date. After the
fifteen minutes are up, they will be asked to take out a sheet of notebook paper. I will then
orally administer a ten question quiz based on “Where Have You Gone, Charming Billy?” Then, if
time permits, we will begin watching student adaptations of Romeo and Juliet.

Assignments: SOAPS-“As If”
Student Learning Expectations: Students will search for important details found in the short
story that we read last week.
Mode of Instruction/Activities: At the beginning of class, students will be given ten minutes to
work on their imagery warm up and read. After the ten minutes are up, I will explain what
students are to include in a story collage representing the story, “Where Have You Gone,
Charming Billy?” For this collage, students will work in groups. I will provide the paper, crayons,
pencil colors, and markers. As they skim over the story, students will create a collage that
includes a visual representation of the story, the setting of the story, two literary devices, a
striking quote, and one personal/literary/world connection per group member. Students may
add more than one drawing if they wish.
