Job Title Minibus Driver Job Purpose To co-ordinate and participate in the transport of clients to and from the centre and drive the minibus and provide care as required for people whilst undertaking this role. Job Summary The post holder will be responsible for driving the Helen McArdle Care minibus as part of a pickup and drop off service for clients of the Day Centre Club but also will be required to drive the bus to transport residents on excursions from other centres or care homes owned by Helen McArdle Care. Responsibilities will include driving to a safe and responsible standard, participating in the care needs of residents whilst on excursions or in the bus. Cleaning of the bus inside and out. Maintaining the bus in a road worthy condition and coordinating servicing of the bus. Principal Responsibilities Driving and Passenger Care To drive the Helen McArdle Care minibus on as required for the safe and effective running of the business To accompany passengers safely from and to the bus. Ensure passengers are seated appropriately and comfortably for their journey To deal with any discomfort or emergency which may arise for passengers during their journey Maintain mileage logs as necessary Liaise with day centre coordinator as to routes Health and Safety To carry out daily visual checks on the vehicle and other related equipment prior to use to ensure standards of safety are maintained. To ensure that the minibus is fuelled as and when required To ensure that weekly checks are carried out on oil, water, tyre pressures and windscreen wash and action taken to ensure that they are maintained. To be responsible for cleaning the vehicle inside and out. Report immediately any endorsements to driving licence To drive the vehicle in a safe manner following all traffic regulations. To take immediate action and report any incident or accident to line manager Take the minibus for service and repair as required Attend any training deemed as required by the day centre coordinator This job description is not exhaustive and may be amended to meet changing needs and such other reasonable duties as may be required. Your off duty may be subject to change at short notice to ensure the safe and effective running of the service.
