S EAS ON 3
By Will Hungerford
Reaper Team
War has once again swept across western Immoren, more fierce
and bloody than ever before. As the atrocities of war continue to
escalate, the people look to their kings, queens, and emperors for
guidance. You are one of those mighty leaders, and you stand at
a crossroads. What do you believe in? How will you lead your
forces to victory?
Achievement 1: Elitist
Are you a Sower of war? Perhaps your agenda is more righteous
and honorable than any others. Perhaps you are willing to go to
any length and put into motion any plot to ensure your people
take their rightful place as the conquerors of Immoren.
Are you a Reaper of war? While others play their complex and
deadly chess game, wasting the lives of thousands of their
own soldiers and citizens, you prepare to reap the vast spoils
left behind by their folly. You are not some petty opportunistic
cutthroat; instead you will see your people rise to glory through
the failure of your enemies.
Choose your side, and prepare to slay any who stand in your
way. During this season of Crossroads of Courage, the conflict
takes place in and around the Widower’s Wood. No place, not
even the untamed wilderness, is safe from the ravages of war.
Gone are the familiar “luxuries” of civilized warfare; there are no
warm trenches to rest weary bones, only the bitter ruthlessness
of the wild.
Achievements
The following Achievements are available to each team for this
season. A player can score each Achievement only once per
week. Remember, before each league season begins a player must
choose to either be a Reaper or a Sower for the entire season.
While a player can freely change army lists and even Factions
between games, he cannot change which team he belongs to until
the next season begins.

Coin of Fate
Players who participated in Crossroads of Courage Season 2
received “The Dreamer” Coin of Fate as a prize for finishing that
season. In Season 3 league games, a player with “The Dreamer”
Coin can attempt to unleash its power to swing the Scales of Fate
in his favor.
Once per game at the start of one of his turns, a player can use his
Coin to swing the Scales of Fate. Some scenarios allow a player
to use the Coin of Fate in other ways. In these cases, a player can
use these scenario-specific Coin rules before and after he uses the
Coin to try to swing the Scales of Fate. However, if a scenario rule
states that a player cannot use their Coin for a specific amount
of time (for example, for two rounds), the player cannot flip the
Coin to swing the Scales of Fate for that duration.
To attempt to swing the Scales of Fate, a player declares his intent
at the start of his turn and flips his coin, calling either heads or
tails. Heads refers to the side of the coin displaying “The Dreamer,”
and tails refers to the side of the coin displaying “The Raven.” The
result of the coin flip has an effect as described below, based on
which team the player represents and whether the coin flip result
was in his favor or not.
The Crossroads & the Holden the
Runaway Card
The link for this season’s Crossroads survey can be found at
privateerpress.com/organized-play/leagues/crossroads-of-courage.
Once per league week a player can visit the Crossroads for this season
and answer a brief series of questions. Depending on the answers,
the player will receive one of two results: Courage or Cowardice.
If a player’s result is Courage, for that league week he can
include Holden the Runaway (Courage) in any of his army lists.
Similarly, if a player’s result is Cowardice, for that league week
he can include Holden the Runaway (Coward) in any of his army
lists. Players who participated in Crossroads of Courage Season
1 or Season 2 can also opt to use their older iterations of Holden
(Holden the Last and Private Holden) instead of Holden the
Runaway, though they must still complete the Crossroads survey
to determine which Courage or Coward version of Holden they
are allowed to use for any given week.
Reaper Team

playing a scenario that does not use control points, all friendly
warcasters and warlocks suffer 3d6 damage points instead.

2
SCENARIO 1:
TRAIN WRECK
Summary: A few well-placed explosives have derailed a train
car containing valuable military equipment. Unfortunately for
the raiding party, a military escort was aboard another train
following closely behind, and they are not pleased with the
ambush. Both sides will do whatever it takes to secure the goods
within the derailed car, even if it requires dragging the container
through the mud by the sheer might of their battlegroups!
In this scenario, the Reaper player is the Attacker and the Sower
player is the Defender. If both players belong to the same team,
randomly determine which player is the Attacker and which is
the Defender.
Before the game begins, place a 6˝ × 12˝ obstruction centered
horizontally in the middle of the table. This obstruction represents
the Wreckage. If the venue does not have a physical terrain piece
large enough, we recommend using a 6˝ × 12˝ zone template to
represent the obstruction.
Additionally, if Battlefield terrain rules are not being used, place
six to eight pieces of terrain on the table. No terrain feature can
be placed within 3˝ of another terrain feature, with the exception
of trench templates.
Both players have standard deployment zones. Alternatively, this
scenario can be played on a 30˝ × 30˝ table using the Rumble rules
found in the Crossroads of Courage core rules document.
Special Rules
The Attacker is attempting to loot the train car wreckage, while
the Defender is attempting to protect the valuables within. Both
sides are willing to do whatever it takes to achieve their goal,
including dragging the train car across the battlefield!
At the start of each player’s turn, if the active player has more
models within 2˝ of the Wreckage than his opponent, he can move
the Wreckage d3˝ directly toward his table edge. All models,
including huge-based models, are displaced by the Wreckage
using the rules of least disturbance. If the Wreckage contacts any
other terrain, remove that terrain from the table.
Starting on the Defender’s second turn, at the end of each turn a
player scores 1 control point (CP) if he controls any models B2B
with the Wreckage and his opponent controls no models B2B with
the Wreckage. (Note: This means a player can score a CP at the
end of his opponent’s turn as well as his own if he meets the
requirements to score.)
Victory Conditions
A player wins if he has the only warcaster(s) or warlock(s)
remaining in play.
Additionally, a player wins when he scores 4 CPs.
The Attacker is the first player.

SCENARIO 2:
LOST IN THE WOODS
Summary: Two forces march to battle, but the land itself protests
their careless approach. The woods close in around platoons,
separating soldiers from one another and causing mass confusion.
All these brave souls will eventually meet on the field of battle . . .
when the woods allow it.
Before the game begins, place two 12˝-diameter zones on the
centerline of the table, one centered 14˝ from the left table edge
and one centered 14˝ from the right table edge. If Battlefield
terrain rules are not being used, place six to eight pieces of terrain
on the table. No terrain feature can be placed within 3˝ of another
terrain feature, with the exception of trench templates.
Both players have standard deployment zones. Alternatively, this
scenario can be played on a 30˝ × 30˝ table using the Rumble rules
found in the Crossroads of Courage core rules document.
Special Rules
All non-battlegroup and non-huge-based models gain Lost.
(Remember, warcasters and warlocks are battlegroup models.)
You cannot deploy a model/unit with Lost at the start of the
game. Instead, you can put up to two models/units you control
with Lost into play at the end of each of your Control Phases
after your first turn. When you do, choose any table edge except
the back of your opponent’s deployment zone. Place all models
completely within 3˝ of the chosen table edge. In addition, those
units must be placed in formation.
Victory Conditions
A player wins if he has the only warcaster(s) or warlock(s)
remaining in play.
Additionally, a player wins when he scores 5 CPs.

SCENARIO 3:
GOING, GOING . . .
Summary:
In a storm of uncertain, snapping dark that whirls and flits around me,
I take a step beyond the world on a dark and perilous journey.
Wheeling black shapes tempest-tossed lead me ever onward,
yet my destination remains unknown and I still meander
Through shadowed fen and under limbs of stooped and creaking willow,
while around me and above me wings flap a madman’s tempo.
If Battlefield terrain rules are not being used, place six to eight
pieces of terrain on the table. No terrain feature can be placed
within 3˝ of another terrain feature, with the exception of trench
templates.
Models gain concealment while completely within a Strange
Crows AOE.
While completely within a Strange Crows AOE, a model can
forfeit its Normal Movement to shift through reality. If it does,
choose another Strange Crows AOE on the table. Remove the
model from the AOE and place it completely within the chosen
location. If there is not room to place the model, it is removed
from play.
Victory Conditions
A player wins if he has the only warcaster(s) or warlock(s)
remaining in play.
Both players have standard deployment zones. Alternatively, this
scenario can be played on a 30˝ × 30˝ table using the Rumble rules
found in the Crossroads of Courage core rules document.
Special Rules
During each player’s Control Phase, the active player places one
3˝ Strange Crows AOE anywhere on the table where it does not
touch a model’s base.
