This Thursday, we baked hugs and kisses out of dough. After talking about signing cards with XOXO, we rolled a dough ball into a snake. Each child decided whether they wanted to make a “hug” or a “kiss”. They formed the dough on a cookie sheet and baked them 14 minutes. Then we frosted them and decorated with sprinkles. XOXO Friday, March 1, 2013 “Read Across America” is a nationwide effort to place every child in America in the company of a book on Friday, March 1st. The event is sponsored by the National Education Association and celebrates the birthday of Dr. Seuss, the late author of children’s books such as Hop On Pop, The Cat in the Hat, and Green Eggs and Ham. Please choose any book to read to your child that Friday and record the title of the book along with your signature. Return this slip of paper to school on Monday, March 4th. Thank you in advance for promoting reading in your home!
