2015-16 Theme: Nurturing Cultural Harmony
Eligible Participants: All Southern Denton County Students in Grades 4 - 12
Requirements:
All typed essays must be original
and relate to Dr. King’s ideals, philosophy, and principles.
It must also incorporate this year’s theme. It should
be titled Nurturing Cultural Harmony.
Full Name, phone, email, grade, school, and teacher’s name
must be written on a separate cover sheet.
Teachers will select the top 10 per class to send to us.
Grades 4-5 – 200-350 Words
Grades 6-8 – 350-500 Words
Grades 9-12 – 500-800 Words
Cash Prizes: $250 Chairman Prize,
Each Grade 4, 5: First $ 50; Second $40; Third $25
Each Grade 6, 7, 8: First: $100; Second: $75; 3rd: $50
Each Grade 9,10,11,12: 1st - $150; 2nd -$100; 3rd : $75

The winners will be recognized and their prizes awarded at the Dr. King Celebration
event on MONDAY January 18, 2016 at 6:30 PM, at Lewisville High School Auditorium
at 1098 W. Main Street in Lewisville. Art pieces will be on display at 5:30 PM.
