Monday 26th September Times Table Knowledge Dear Parents / Carers, This year North Borough are continuing to have an emphasis on the children’s times table knowledge as we feel this underpins a wide range of mathematical concepts. Under the new maths curriculum all children should be able to recite their tables up to 12 x 12, by the end of year 4. Each year group will have a times table to focus over a couple of weeks, the harder tables have been given more time. Children will be taught the focus table and tested on it weekly. If children gain 100% at the end of each focus, they will earn themselves a reward. At the end of the year the children will complete a ‘master test’ which will include all of the tables they have learnt in the year, last year, those children who scored 98% or higher were rewarded with a trip to the Cinema. Below are the times table focus’ so that you are able to support your child alongside the school. Please visit the school website for more support and links to helpful websites. Children complete a baseline test during the first week, they will then complete an assessment test during the last week to show their progress. 12th Sept - 3rd Oct 3rd Oct - 31st Oct 31st Oct -21st Nov 21st Nov - 19th Dec 19th Dec - 23rd Jan 23rd Jan - 27th Feb 27th Feb - 27th March 27th March - 1st May 1st May - 22nd May 22nd May - 19th June 19th June - 3rd July Weeks of learning during term time Year 3 Year 4 Year 5 Year 6 3 weeks 3 weeks 3 weeks 4 weeks 4 weeks 4 weeks 3 weeks 3 weeks 3 weeks 3 weeks 2 weeks x3 x6 x4 x8 x7 x9 x10 x1 x2 x5 x0 x3 x4 x6 x8 x7 x12 x9 x5 x11 x0/ x1 /x10 x2 x3 x4 x6 x8 x7 x12 x9 x5 x11 x7 x6 x3 x4 x6 x8 x7 x12 x9 x11 Thank you for your continued support.
