Take 5 minutes to answer the
following question in your
sketchbook…
If you had to make a list of the 5 MOST important
people or things in your life, what would they be?
Think beyond material possessions, such as
phones, xboxes and your favorite pair of Nike
shoes….what matters most to you?

Now take that list of your MOST
IMPORTANT 5, and think about
how you might represent those
WITHOUT WORDS.
Beside each of the things on
your list, draw the simplest
image you can think of to take
the place of the word.
These symbols/images will be personal, and
representative of the 5 things on your list. No
one else has to be able to understand them
but you.
Remember that you are
drawing ONLY a pie
piece of the mandala
design!
Try to incorporate some
meaning into your
mandala by using
symbols of things that
are important to you!
