We intend to do this by sharing this unique Latin-American holiday that in truth transcends any and all ethnic boundaries. Celebrating Cinco de Mayo has become increasingly more popular along the U.S.-Mexico border and in parts of the U.S. that have a high population of people with a Mexican heritage. We have found that by sharing our heritage and culture through food, music, beverage and customs; we are more able to show the love we have for one another as we open our minds to show how similar we really are. Commercial interests in the United States and Mexico have also had a hand in promoting the holiday, with products and services focused on Latino foods, beverages and festivities, with music playing a more visible role as well. Several cities throughout the U.S. hold parades and concerts during the week ending on May 5th, making Cinco de Mayo a bigger holiday north of the border than it is to the south, and being adopted into the holiday calendar of more and more people every year. The festivities will conclude with traditional music, dancing, food and storytelling. We realize how often you are asked to make donations and we appreciate your willingness to consider assisting us. We need your help to reach our goals. Please feel free to contact us with any questions at 803-227-8984 or at our mailing address of PO Box 23693 Columbia SC 29224. We sincerely thank you in advance for your support!
