Can I bring my pet?
Pets are allowed but must be kept on a leash at all times.
Pets are not allowed in the Lodge or bathhouse area.
Proof of vaccinations must be presented at check –in.
Do you serve meals for vegetarians?
Vegetarian choicesa are provided with each meal. If you
have diet restrictions pleas inform the kitchen staff as
soon as you check in so they can accommodate.

Is there power?
A power outlet is located in each cabin. The generator is
turned off nightly. A flashlight is helpful for those wishing
to use the facilities after hours.
What if I get injured?
First Aid is available for bumps, bruises, and scrapes, and
to handle most emergency situations.
Are there Sunday services?
The Silver Lake Chapel is located between Plasse’s
meadow and the lake. It offers a stunning view of Thunder
Mountain and Silver Lake as a backdrop for Sunday
services. Protestant services are at 10:00 am, Catholic
Mass at noon.
Can I bring my bike?
Bikes can be ridden on surrounding trails and roads but
are not allowed in the campground area for safety
purposes.
Is there a store?
The camp store offers a variety of snacks and sundries.
Firearms or fireworks are not permitted in Camp.
Camp stoves and other fire apparatus are also not
permitted. Campfires are only allowed in the main
campfire ring. Your cooperation with these Forest Service
restrictions is appreciated.

Directions:
From Stockton, take Highway 88 (Waterloo Rd.)
east, continuing on Hwy 88 for 52 miles beyond
Jackson. Turn right onto Plasse’s Road; follow the
road past Plasse’s Resort, and go to the left where
it forks. Camp is shortly beyond the end of the last
paved area.

Silver Lake Camp
Since 1921, Silver Lake Stockton
Camp has hosted campers
escaping the heat and
bustle of the city for a
fresh, more peaceful
setting. This historic camp
is located a half mile from
Silver Lake in Amador County, which
is nestled at the foot of Thunder
Mountain in the majestic High Sierra.
It is 100 miles east of Stockton on
Highway 88 at an elevation of 7,300
feet, and is less than an hour from
Lake Tahoe.
Accommodations
Silver Lake Stockton Camp offers
rustic, all-wood cabins. Each cabin is
furnished with a double bed and two
sets of bunk beds, dressers and
chairs. You will need your own
bedding or sleeping bags. The cabins
have electric lights and outlets
powered by a central generator. A
modern, centrally-located bathhouse
provides hot showers and laundry
facilities. A phone for campers’
emergency use is located in the Camp
Office.
Cell phones: no service.
Wi-Fi: coming in 2013.
Your stay at Silver Lake Stockton Camp
includes three meals prepared each day
by our kitchen staff. Breakfast will be
Continental on some days. Lunch and
dinner always include a
salad bar. Sack lunches
available by request for
campers who expect to
be away from camp
during the day. Enjoy
your meals in our rustic lodge or outside
on the patio.
The Silver Lake Campers Association
is a non-profit group that has worked
to support the City of Stockton’s
operation of Silver Lake Family Camp
for more than 60 years. In the past, the
Association has provided “those little
extras” that enhance the Family Camp
experience. In 2009, the Campers
Association was authorized by the City
of Stockton to operate Silver Lake
Family Camp for the benefit of all those
who want to make Silver Lake Camp a
part of their vacation plans.
During Family Camp your family and
friends can enjoy a variety of
recreational and social activities. Take
part in our weekly Variety Show
presented by and
for the Campers.
Enjoy a sing-along or skits by
the campfire.
There will also be
hikes and
activities for kids and adults during the
day.You may do Arts & Crafts or
Archery, play
Volleyball or
Horseshoes or
just relax.
Evenings include
Karaoke
Night,Campfires,
Bingo, Variety Shows, and Game night,
often more.
Campers are also free to plan their own
adventures. There are many hiking trails
within a short
distance of
camp;
swimming,
kayaking, and
fishing at the
lake; or simply relaxing under the trees
or enjoying a walk in one of the
wildflower-filled meadows near the
camp.
