Summer Term – Extra Mile Challenge

A story can turn out very
differently depending on
which character you choose
to focus on. Think of a
story you know well, or are
studying in your lessons
and try to re-write that
story from one of the other
character’s point of view.
The possibilities are endless!
Goldilocks and the Three Bears—told from
the Baby Bear’s point of view
Treasure Island told from another pirate’s point of view
Esio Trot told from Alfie’s point of view
Cinderella told from the mouse’s point of view.
Princess and the Pea told from the pea’s point of view!
Have fun thinking of what story and characters could
be in your version of the events that happened.
Good Luck Everybody!
When you tell a story from a particular character’s
point of view, you can only write about things your
character has seen or heard. If you include things they
couldn’t have known about it makes the story less
believable.
~~~~~~~
Write out your story in rough, and then edit it carefully.
Give your story a snappy title.
Use a dictionary or a Thesaurus to help you spell words
correctly and to use interesting adjectives.
Read your story out loud—does it make sense?
Once you are happy with your work, copy it out in your best
handwriting and decorate the border.
Hand in your completed story to
Mrs Shannon in the library by
9th June 2017.
