Children’s Challenge
This booklet has been designed
specially for you as a useful
information guide and checklist for
your safari experience with us.
We hope it will keep you busy,
entertained and excited as you can
record your sightings whilst on
safari.
We would love to know how well
you have done!
Did you know?
• The Big Five includes Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Buffalo and Elephant.
• The Little Five includes Elephant Shrew, Buffalo Weaver, Leopard Tortoise, Lion Ant
and Rhino Beetle.
• Female Elephants are known as “COWS”
•Giraffes have blue tongues
• Hyenas are More Closely Related to Cats than Dogs
• Lions Sleep for 20 Hours a Day
• An Elephant Calf Often Sucks Its Trunk for Comfort
• Hippos spray their poo to mark their territory, they do this by wagging their tails
