FUNCTION SPACES
THE LOUNGE
Capacity: 100 guests, stand-up
The Lounge is a private room located upstairs
with its own bar and comfortably holds up to
100 guests for a stand up party.
Choose from our canapé menu and beverage
options. We are happy to assist or recommend
suppliers for decorations, cakes, candy buffets,
entertainment and more.
Being in the heart of the hustle and bustle of
lively Chapel St, Temperance Hotel’s Lounge
is the perfect location for your celebration.
Be it a special birthday occasion, engagement
or work function you can wow your guests
in our sexy, stylish and lush private lounge.
The sparkling chrome and mirrors, burgundy
drapes and marble top bar is a lovely combination in both style and comfort.
Combined with our professional service,
delicious food and drinks, your party will be

FUNCTION SPACES
THE BOOTH BAR
Capacity: 50 guests, stand-up
30 guests, sit-down
The Booth Bar is downstairs next to the main
bar. It can hold up to 30 guests for a sit down
event or up to 50 guests combined seating
and standing.
This area is great for semi-private events such
as birthday parties or casual social gatherings
as it can be sectioned off and has its own bar.
*Please note this is not a completely private room.
BEER GARDEN
Capacity: 60 guests, stand-up
Our beautiful Beer Garden is a great place for
informal events and is ideal for birthdays and
other social functions. The area is decked
out with outdoor tables, umbrellas, wall
plants and festoon lights to give it a warm,
Summery feel. It can hold up to 60 guests for
standing events only. A DJ can be set up
and organised in our Beer Garden.
*The area is more suited to summer events as it is
not completely covered. A wet weather contingency
is provided should the weather not be suitable on the
day.

In our main bar area downstairs we can
host lunch or dinners for up to 30 guests
offering full table service.
COURTYARD
Capacity: 50 guests, stand-up
Our courtyard can be booked for casual
get togethers of up to 50 guests standing
including both the outdoor and an indoor
area combined.
EXCLUSIVE VENUE HIRE

out with the girls will suffice, Temperance
Hotel provides the perfect option. We offer
two Ladies packages that will be sure to kick
start the celebrations. Should you have any
additional requirements, we can certainly look
at tailoring specific packages for you.

Parking Facilities
There is street parking available all night
after 6pm, and there are a number of
secure parking facilities offered on and
around Chapel Street.
Transit
Tram 78 and 79 run from the CBD to
Chapel Street.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Confirmation of Menu and Final Numbers
Food and Beverage Consumption
Responsibility
Final food and beverage choices must be confirmed 12
days prior to the day on which the function is to be held.
Final numbers of guests must be confirmed 48 hours
prior to the day on which the function is to be held.
Function food can only be supplied in the Lounge up
until 9:45pm when food service will then cease unless
otherwise arranged with Management prior to your event.
No food or beverage of any kind will be permitted to be
bought into the venue by the client or guest without prior
arrangement with the Temperance Hotel. Temperance
Hotel is a fully licensed venue and practices responsible
service of alcohol and will abide by the law in all
instances. Patrons must abide by the liquor licensing
conditions of the venue. Temperance Hotel reserves the
right to refuse the supply of alcoholic beverages to any
guest or person attending the function without liability.
The client is financially responsible for any damage
sustained to Temperance Hotel fittings, property and
equipment or theft of the same which is caused by the
client, guests or outside contractors prior to, during
or after a function. No banners, signs or posters may
be attached to walls, ceilings or windows without the
consent of the Manager.
Payment
A deposit is required to secure all bookings in The Lounge.
Full and final payment is due on the day of your function,
any additional guests will be charged on the day. We
accept cash, major credit cards or company cheques
which need to be made out to Chapel Hotel Pty Ltd.
Personal cheques will not be accepted. GST is inclusive
in all quoted prices. All private functions will require a
minimum spend on food.
Entertainment
(Exclusive functions only - unless approved by Management)
All entertainment is subject to Management approval. We
will be pleased to assist you in arranging entertainment,
DJ’s or audio visual equipment to ensure a memorable
event. These additional items would be at extra cost to
the client.
Cancellation Fee
Beer Garden Functions
Your deposit will be taken as a cancellation fee if your
event is cancelled within 28 days of the function date.
Our Beer Garden is not completely covered and if bad
weather ensues we may be forced to move your event
into our Main Bar and Courtyard area. We charge a
$500 hire fee for our Beer Garden area exclusively, this
enables us to have an extra member of staff on to look
after your group and covers further costs including
security. A minimum spend is also in place to cover
regular trade which is lost due to the function. All
guests must vacate the Beer Garden by 12am, when
the area closes.
Dress Code
It is expected that all function guests are dressed in neat
attire; Temperance Hotel does not allow thongs or tank
tops. It is the responsibility of the host/client to advise
their guests of our dress code.
Cocktails and Specials
Due to limited equipment, space and staffing cocktails
are not available in Lounge functions (they can however
be purchased downstairs and brought up to the Lounge).
Any Happy Hours or drinks specials running in the
downstairs Main Bar do not apply to drinks purchased
or added to bar tabs in the Lounge functions.
Function Timing
The start time of the function can be flexible commencing
any time after open at 12pm. The space is reserved
with a private bar tender for the client until 1am, unless
authorised by the Manager on Duty on the night.
Temperance Hotel accepts no responsibility for any
goods, gifts, equipment or personal items left on the
premises. All of the above items must be taken at the
completion of the said function.
Private use of the Upstairs Lounge is limited until
midnight unless otherwise arranged with the Venue
Manager.
Neat Dress Codes apply at all times. We are a nonsmoking venue. Minors are allowed to attend functions
only under the direct supervision of their immediate
parents or lawful guardians but must be off premise
by 10pm. Minors must not consume alcohol under any
circumstances. It is the responsibility of the host to
notify Temperance staff if a minor is attending a function.
Security
Depending on function confirmed numbers and dates
security may be required at a cost to the client.
Temperance Hotel reserves the right to exclude or eject
any or all guests or other person from the function and
venue without liability. Management reserves the right
to close the venue at any time with due warning and
reasonableness.
