•They celebrated the first Thanksgiving
Day at Plymouth, Massachusetts.
•The Wampanoag Indians were the people who
taught the Pilgrims how to cultivate the land.
•The Pilgrim leader, Governor William
Bradford, had organized the first Thanksgiving
feast in 1621. He invited the neighboring
Wampanoag Indians to the feast.
•The first Thanksgiving celebration lasted three days.
•Mashed potatoes, pumpkin pies, popcorn, milk,
corn on the cob, and cranberries were not foods
present on the first Thanksgiving’s feast table.
•Lobster, rabbit, chicken, fish, squashes, beans,
chestnuts, hickory nuts, onions, leeks, dried
fruits, maple syrup and honey, radishes, cabbage,
carrots, eggs, and goat cheese are thought to
have made up the first Thanksgiving feast.

November Highlights
November is here already? Fantastic! Let the fun
begin! Some of our activity highlights are:
Our Veteran’s Day Pool Side Barbecue on 11/11 at
11:30AM, Christmas Ornament Making (this goes
all through the month, as we are making ornaments
to decorate our villa resident tree to be auctioned
off), Dinner Outing to Carrabbas 11/13 at 4:30PM,
Pineapple Playhouse “The Kitchen Witches” on
11/14 at 7:15PM (Cost TBA), Big Bash Bingo on
11/15 at 3PM,
on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 3PM in the Club
House. Please remember to make it to our activity
planning meeting on 11/27 at 2PM. We are baking
homemade pumpkin and pecan pies on 11/26 at
2PM! Jules has started Poker Night on Mondays at
7PM and has Shuffle Board going on in the Club
House on 11/15 and 11/29 at 2PM. Check your
calendar daily so you don’t miss out on all the fun!

cash at door), Tye Dyeing Bags & Hats on 11/21
at 6:30PM and Beach Baby Picnic at Jetty Park on
11/22 at 11AM (Bagged Lunches Provided)! Don’t
