Objective
•
Assess altitudes of aircraft at three locations on RNAV departures
from DCA Rwy 1
Methodology
1. Include aircraft that come within ¼ NM of at least one of three
waypoints
2. Record the altitude when the aircraft closest to each waypoint
3. Compute statistics for:
• The top 10 aircraft types by number of operations
• All aircraft in the sample set
Data
• FAA multi-sensor radar surveillance data
• Date range: Jan 1 – Jul 28, 2016
• 47,961 departures from Rwy 1
