We are having a great time in P-2! This time of the year is a busy time, with lots of assessments
and finishing off units of work. We are focusing on narrative writing for the next 2 weeks and our
sound for next week is air/are. Please encourage your child to read to you every night and practice
their sight words, and thank you for all those parents who support their children with their homework. Have a great week!

Sent home with each family, is a book of raffle tickets to raise money for our school playgroup.
Could you please do your best to sell the tickets and return them to the school by 2nd December.
The raffle will be drawn on Wednesday night at the school concert.
Thankyou Kim Welke.
A Special Meeting will be held on Monday 18th November @ 7.30pm to select an auditor for our books.
This is a Department requirement, and the normal monthly meeting will follow.
As there wasn’t many at the last P&C meeting, the final decision on the shade sails was deferred to the next
meeting. The proposal is to cover the western side of the tiger turf area in front of the school using twin or a
single sail. The quotes range between $9500 and $12500.This is a significant project, so please come to the
next meeting and have your input or contact me. Thanks to Matt for giving the cricket team some coaching for
the carnival last week. Chris Cleary and I met with Deb Frecklington, State MP for Nanango regarding the
lack of flexibility with school bus eligibility. She has 6 other cases of schools and families with similar issues.
She is putting together a submission to the Transport Minister.
Have a good week John Hensel 0429 92 42 92.

A notice to ratepayers and residents of Bowenville, Irvingdale, Kommamurra and Formartin districts: Following last year's public meeting about the closure
of the Bowenville dump, a Delegation met with Mayor Antonio and Councillors Sommerfield and Gouldson. At that meeting, the Mayor promised to provide
skip bins and a key system, in lieu of our closed dump, for local residents to dispose of waste. This did not eventuate. Upon follow-up of this matter, a
Councillor suggested the provision of a number of wheelie bins at Bowenville. After further prompting, a skip bin was promised at the same site for domestic
and farm waste. With no further notice, about one week later six plastic wheelie bins were placed in the area near the highway together with instructions on
a sign. If you are unhappy with this situation as the permanent replacement for our dump then please contact Nancy Sommerfield on 0499 774 278 or Paul
Antonio on 0429 954 109. Please pass this message on to other concerned residents who may not receive this newsletter.
