NEWS & NOTES
Our Easter Flower order must be in by March 15th. The options are: Easter Lilies
$13.00, Mums $15.00 and Hydrangeas $23.00. Order forms are available at the back of
church.
The Easter for Kids event will be held Saturday, March 21st, 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Mt.
Calvary. All children of Mt. Calvary Congregation, all students of Mt. Calvary-Grace
School, their family, friends, and neighbors are invited to attend. We will celebrate Jesus as
our Savior and His resurrection by singing songs, doing crafts, playing games, and enjoying
each other's friendship. A morning snack will be served. Any adult or older student that
would like to volunteer to help with this should contact Christina Hayes. We would like to
know how many to plan for so please register by March 18th. Forms are available in the
back of Church.
Luther High School’s Drama Department will present You Can't Take It with You, a comedy in three acts by George S.
Kaufman and Moss Hart, Friday and Saturday, March 13 and 14 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 15 at 2:00 p.m. Alice
and Tony are in love. What happens when Tony’s prim and proper parents meet Alice’s eccentric family? Plan to join us as
the fireworks fly! General admission tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children.
We interrupt our regular Sunday Bible Class with this special announcement. On March 8 and 15, John Halvorson will lead
a discussion of Islam with the theme: "A Concise History of Islam." It will be begin with Ishmael to answer where the
Arabs came from, give a brief description of pre-Islamic Arabia, highlight what little is known about Mohammad, describe
how the main divisions in Islam came about, touch on the Crusades, trace the slow descent of the Ottoman Empire (and the
Islamic world, in general) from Suleiman the Magnificent until World War I, and briefly describe the current state of the cult.
A bowling fellowship will be held on Sunday, March 15 at 2:00 p.m. at Pla-Mor Lanes, 807 S. 4th Street, for all ages.
The cost is $3 per line. Shoe rental is free. A sign up sheet is located in the back of church. Everyone is welcome.
Camp Whitewater is taking applications for summer campers. Youth entering 3rd grade through 8th grade (next fall). Online
applications may be found at the Camp website. www.campwhitewater.org Counselor applications are also available online.
Week One of camp is July 12-17 and Week Two is July 19-24.
