Do they use cups to
drink in other countries?
No, they use liters, like we have
2 liters of pop. It's the same unit.
No, I meant do they really
use cups to drink? My dad says
they drink out of steins.
Sure, lots of Europeans use
steins to drink, like we use cups.
Now, our next unit.
It rhymes with meter.

Liters measure liquid
like meters measure length.

milliliters and centiliters?
That's the nice thing
about metrics. Same units.

You know how big a 2 liter is?

So, how big is a centiliter?
1 liter = 100 Centiliters
Just like centimeters, there's
100 centiliters in a liter.
1 liter = 100 Centiliters
I knew that. If I drink a
centiliter, how much is that?
1 Centiliter is 1 swallow.
Or you can count 20 drops.
1 Centiliter 1 swallow
That means I can count the
centiliters I drink at a fountain.

liters are in 350 centiliters?

Just like 3 dollars 50 cents,
so it's 3 liters and 50 centiliters.

Here's the key to remember.
1 liter is 100 centiliters, so if it's
less than 100, it's less than a liter.
That's weird there's a unit
that counts in swallows.
I know kids who
take like 8 or 9 swallows.
You know that's an estimate.
Your dad probably is different.
Woe, when I'm thirsty I
can take like 20 swallows.
Especially after football
practice in the summer time.
