H&S Parent Meeting Agenda 11/08/16 Past affairs Dine outs Union Station: $212.26 Friendly’s: $148.60 Fundraisers: candy bar/profit/ voicing concerns Craft fair update/ New Chair start planning in January – Angela Boyle will chair (more info below) Pie sale dates 9/16 to 10/7 – Both positive and negative feedbacks about the new pies. Take note of the sales when the spring order is placed to determine whether or not we should continue with this company. Equal exchange Fundraiser 9/23 to 10/14 - $300 profit Tupperware sale (coordinates with craft fair) 40% from flyer 10% from craft fair – determined that this was an easy fundraiser for the school which brought a profit of $517 Corbis Pizza Fundraiser?? – Dates have been secured (see below) Family picnic: games, prizes, hotdogs, reminders and face painters RSVPS so far 136 Back to school present for teachers: candy bar box, stocked them up with sodas Budget – Visually broken down into two sections (Income & Expense) so that it is easier to read Current affairs Dineouts/Fundraisers Friendly’s: 148.60 Hinkles: 78.00 – Note that this was less than last year because last year’s check included a donation also Tupperware:517.00 Equal Exchange:300.80 Paint & Sip: 507.89(scheduling another one over winter) Pie: 652.00 DDD: 375.00 Fundraisers for next year what to keep/change Equal Exchange Corbis Flower Sale for Mother’s Day – Bulbs and flowers Wreath Sale – possibly coordinate with LCHS on a vendor and time frame. Another idea was a make your own wreath session similar to the paint and sip. Check with Heidi Smith for this option? White Elephant sale at the HT festival? Check with Hal Snyder about this. Budget change/ color explosion move – Home and School will handle the color explosion for this year. Next year it will be taken over by Development and the budget will be re-evaluated Ideas for tuition vouchers – Some ideas were, raffle tickets at meetings and certain events for volunteers. This is in need of more discussion. Craft fair moved to April 2017/18 (color run out of our hands) – Thinking about having this the same day as the Columbia Antique and Craft Fair in June. Will need to talk to Father about the parking lot availability Ugly sweater Day 12/22/16 either pay to dress down or bring food donation? – Was determined that this should be a pay dress down day and the date changed to 12/8 or 12/9 Birthday Party for Jesus 12/22/16 – Check with Sister Anna on ideas for this. Bring toiletry items for the homeless shelters as they are needed sometimes more than food and often forgotten about. Make birthday cards for Jesus. Mandatory fundraiser for next year/ over summer Put out buyout/letter in May – New and K3/K4 families will not participate in this fundraiser. Buyout letter will be sent out in May and the candy will be sent home with the children before the end of the school year. Candy can be sold over the summer and money due at the start of the following school year. This idea received positive feedback. Future affairs Hoss’s Monday – 11/12/16 Saint Nick Visit 12/6/16 – Need a chair to put bags together & walk with Saint Nick 9am-11am – Megan Groff will chair Christmas shops 12/8/16 & 12/9/16 - K3/K4 students will be bussed up to the Cherry Street building for shopping Corbis Pizza (December 9th Start, January 6th Due, January 26th Pickup) not verified Family Skate 1/30/17 – Date has been booked and we are awaiting confirmation email. $125 deposit due by November 30th. Remaining $125 due the night of the party. Volunteers are needed for various activities during Catholic Schools Week
