what is gina’s closet?
Gina’s Closet is an outreach ministry of First
Church of Christ in Garrett. We feel blessed to have the opportunity to give people
clothes and share the love of Jesus.
We accept donations of clean, gently used
clothes for men, women and children, as well
as toiletries throughout the year. Any cash
donations are used to purchase supplies and
items families may need. With the help of
dedicated volunteers, we organize, sort and
arrange the clothing. We are open regularly
to the public each week.

history of gina’s closet
Gina’s Closet was started in 2011 by
Gina Walker, a member of First Church of
Christ. God laid it on her heart to provide free
clothing to those in need. One evening,
women from the church hosted a clothing
swap. Gina suggested that the church
sponsor a clothing giveaway because so
many clothes remained after the swap. The
community’s response was overwhelming.
The women of the church hosted several
clothing giveaways in the church basement
before moving Gina’s Closet to its current
location at Corner Haven. To date, more than
500 people from throughout northeast
Indiana have received toiletries and clothing
-- from pants and shirts to coats and
swimsuits.
