Dear chessfriends, You are invited to take part in an online training

Dear chessfriends,
You are invited to take part in an online training-session together with members
of SKJE on playchess.com in a virtual room which will be called SKJE, the virtual
clubhouse of the SKJE. The date will be Wednesday, 10th September 2014, 19.30.
You might enter regardless if you are using a Microsoft-based system or something
different. However, if you have access to a Microsoft based machine I recommend
to use it, at it is, at least still now, the most comfortable. The following instruction
addresses both of you.
1. Using the browser
It is quite easy to enter via the internet-browser. The first step is to create an
account on playchess.com. You might skip this step if you already have on. Please
head for www.playchess.com and then click there on the right side on
Another window will open and you may follow the instructions there when clicking
on “Create New Account”: Then you will see the following:
The account you create must not be longer than 15 characters, spaces are allowed.
Please avoid names of real persons. However, you might use your own name –
obviously. It is necessary to enter you e-mail, as the e-mail is needed in the case
you forgot your password. The e-mail will never be used to send you any spam or
advertising mails.
When you have created your account please use the following link with your
browser and enter the SKJE-Room:
http://play.chessbase.com/js/apps/playchess/?room=SKJE.
Then register yourself with the button on the upper right side which shows a key,
using your accountname and your password.
On the left side you will see a window
Hit on games (Partien) please. At around 19.30 you will see a game with the
following title:
Click here. A board will open which will show the training session. Questions will
be shown in the Notation of the game (right side) and may be answered by chatting
directly to the trainer.
You are welcome to join and let’s have some fun.
If you have access to a Micrcosoft based system, Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows
8.1 (XP and Vista still works but I do not recommend to use them in the internet)
you have the opportunity to download the playchess-client via
http://download.chessbase.com/download/PlayChessV7Setup.exe.
After installing and starting the software you are asked to create a new account or
register with your existing one. Do either of them and when you then enter the
server please join the room SKJE under Club Rooms from Web:
You will see something like the following
on the left side of the screen. After you have entered a board will be open and you
are able to read the notation and the questions and you are able to chat with
everyone, including the trainer. The training questions should be answered to the
trainer exclusively.
The accounts you will create will be valid at least for ten days, but I will give
everyone who is entering and let me know how the experience was, especially if
something technical will be not OK or might be better, full access to playchess.com
for September 2014.
