Quick Start Guide to Creating Video Lessons 1.) Locate a video that you would like to use in class, find the embed code and copy it. Visit a video site. Find the Share or Embed link. Open the embed code and copy it to your computer's clipboard. Examples of where to find the embed code on three popular video sites. Youtube.com TED.com KhanAcademy.com 2.) 3.) 4.) 5.) Return to LessonWriter and click TEACH Click Video under the Make a Lesson column Fill in the required fields. Paste the embed code into the video box. Before you continue, remember that LessonWriter requires some text to generate language instruction. Return to the site where you got the video and copy the transcripts or use a related text. Youtube.com Finding transcripts. TED.com KhanAcademy.com 6.) Click the link to show the transcript. 7.) Copy the text. 8.) Return to LessonWriter and add the text to the text area. Before you continue check the text and formatting of the transcripts. Some sites have professional quality transcripts but most are done by volunteers or are machine-generated, so you should always proof read transcripts. 9.) If you want to show the text alongside check the box that says “Show text in Lesson.” 10.) Follow all the regular steps to complete a lesson.
