37TH ANNUAL BAY TO BAY TRAILABLE YACHT RACE NOR AND SI ‘APPENDIX A’ FURTHER INFORMATION 1 ENTRY ACCEPTANCE EMAIL Each boat skipper will receive an entry acceptance email upon receipt of entry with Race Number, allocation to a boat Type, Division, Class and provisional ratings. You are expected to read this email carefully and take all reasonable steps to discharge your obligations to matters raised in the email. 2 REGULATORY AUTHORITIES You must comply with the legislated requirements stated in the NOR and follow the lawful directions of officers of Maritime Safety Queensland, Queensland Boating and Fisheries Patrol, Queensland Water Police and Queensland Parks and Wildlife. 3 USE OF SNAPPER CREEK AND URANGAN BOAT HARBOURS You must comply with the permit to anchor in the Snapper Cree Boat Harbour and strictly observe the permitted area is in the shallow waters between the navigation channel and the bank directly in front of the Tin Can Bay Yacht Club. You must not anchor along the eastern rock wall along the eastern side of the Tin Can Bay Yacht Club site or upstream of the western side of the Tin Can Bay Yacht Club site particularly you must not anchor in the areas from the public pontoon upstream past the dolphin feeding area, fuel jetty and the shallow bay upstream of that. You must not tie up to any moorings, private jetties or enter any marina berth areas without appropriate prior arrangement, booking, agreement or permission of the owner or controller of the facility. Anchoring is prohibited in the Urangan Boat Harbour. You must observe the signage in the car and trailer parking area, the rigging area, line up for launching area, derigging and wash down area, boat ramps and public pontoon (including maximum occupation times). You must follow the lawful directions of the boat harbour controllers. 4 OVERNIGHT STAY IN GARRYS ANCHORAGE (SATURDAY) There is no food, drinks, sewage disposal or garbage collection at Garrys on Saturday night or Sunday morning and all boats must be self-sufficient in all respects. Boat must anchor in the shallow waters clear of the navigation channel in an orderly manner in rows allowing clear passage to the shore and to the navigation channel either individually or in appropriate raft up arrangements that will provide appropriate safe distances between boats that will allow safe swinging of the tide or wind and with appropriate anchors that will not drag under tide and wind action. You must protect yourself against the dangers of marine and land based fauna. 5 THE PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES Will be at 1900hrs (not 2000hrs as previously stated) and will be at the HBBC Sporties Club 6 Pier Street Urangan (not at the HBBC function room on the Urangan Boat Harbour as previously stated). 6 CAR AND BOAT TRAILER PARKING Car and boat trailer parking is available at the Tin Can Bay Boat Harbour public boat ramp and the Urangan Boat Harbour public boat ramp. These car parks are open to the public 24 hours and therefore not secure. There is secure parking available at Tin Can Bay and Hervey Bay. Early bookings are essential and are your responsibility. 7 HBSC ORGANIZED BUS TRANSPORT Bus transport is provided for Bay to Bay participants from the Urangan Boat Harbour at Hervey Bay to the Snapper Creek Boat Harbour (Friday 1830 hrs and Saturday 0715 hrs) for those who choose to launch their boat at Tin Can Bay and drive their car and trailer to Hervey Bay. There is no HBSC organized bus provided to Tin Can Bay on Sunday or Monday. 8 ACCOMMODATION Accommodation is available at various marinas, hotels, motels and caravan parks at Tin Can Bay and Hervey Bay. Camping overnight is not permitted in the boat harbour car parks. 9 MEALS AND REFRESHMENTS Meals and refreshments are available at the Tin Can Bay Yacht Club, Tin Can Bay Marina and various hotels, restaurants and cafes around Tin Can Bay on Friday and Saturday and at the Hervey Bay Boat Club, Hervey Bay Boat Club Sportsman Club (9 Pier Street Urangan) and various hotels, restaurants and cafes around Hervey Bay on Sunday.
